Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Appliances

Some patchy fog around this morning when I left on my walk.
It was 44 degrees and no breeze.
Had my usual 6 mile walk around town, the ball park loop,
and both cemeteries.
I saw a green heron at edge of the brook behind the ball park loop,
but I scared it and it flew away before I could get a picture.
A few pictures I took along my walk.

 🐞     🐞     🐞
It's been a while since I've made pancakes so I made some today
for breakfast.  Added some mini chocolate chips to the batter.

We got a call from Lowe's the other day saying that the appliances
we ordered for the new house last month have arrived and we
went this morning to pick them up.
A bit of a hassle getting all four appliances.
Three of them (refrigerator, wall oven unit, and cook top)
were each in a different part in the back of the store and
it took awhile for them to be found.
The microwave was no where to be found out back but then
a worker found it on a shelf in front of the store.
One person told us to pull our truck up to one door to get
loaded so we did.  Then after we did another person told us to
go to another door.  After Ken told them he wasn't moving the truck
again they delivered them out the door where we were.

After an hour and a half we were loaded up and headed to the
new house with the load.
Driving there we were almost in two different accidents.
One where someone practically came to a stop in the middle of the road
and anther where someone made a left hand turn from the
right lane.
We were thankful that we finally made it to the house all in
one piece with all four appliances.
God was sure watching out for us. 😊

That was before lunch.
After lunch we brought the gas stove (which has been sitting
in our garage here at the house for months) up to the new house and
set it on the hearth. Looks great.
Didn't take any pictures because there are boxes
sitting everywhere.  Tomorrow things should be in place
and the boxes gone and will be able to take better pictures.
The exciting thing happening tomorrow is that the
kitchen sink gets put in.

We made another trip to Lowe's and bought two mirrors and two
sets of lights for the bathroom after supper.

We've had mostly a sunny day with a couple of rain showers.
Coming home from Lowe's we saw a beautiful rainbow in the sky.

So that's been my day.
Almost time for ice cream.  🍦

I would had them all delivered, that's way too much labor for my tastes. Though you really have to have a truck.

I did see a lady one day take out her car seat (literally) so she could put in a dryer. I can't say if she got it out, but it sure was fun to watch.

...what lovely foggy scenes!

I really like the fog/mist in today's pics. Looks kind of spooky ( but in a good way)

I'm sure glad you made it home safely with your appliances. I always think my DH's pick-up gets more respect from other drivers than my car does but in your case I'm not sure. Too many idiot drivers around to feel safe behind the wheel.

My brother-in-law picked up my new fridge at Lowes last Saturday morning. He had similar troubles being told to go here or there, but he is a vet so gets appliances at a discount and considers it worth it to do business with Lowes. I imagine you folks had a nice savings with all those appliances. Looking forward to seeing them all in place.

A nice selection of photographs, I always think mist or fog adds to them somehow ... quite atmospheric.
Tae care.

All the best Jan

Glad you made it out of the Home Depot with all your stuff and home unscathed! Yikes. That ice cream must have been a great treat at the end of your day!
