Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Snow Globe

Yup, you guessed it, more snow today.
This morning I felt like I was walking inside a snow globe.

Temperature was 24 degrees with just a little wind.
This time I put my ice grippers on my snow sneakers.
I woke up late and didn't get out the door until 7:30.
(my body is still living on the other time)

Walked up and down the main road through town and then around
the cemeteries, and the ball park loop.
Then up and down some side roads.
There sits a picnic table just waiting for warm weather and for
someone to stop by and have a picnic.  It looks kind of sad.
Once again I didn't see anyone else out walking.
Just me and the school buses and snow plows.
Walked 5.6 miles
Didn't quite make my 6 miles.  Since I left late I was getting
pretty hungry so headed home.
A happy surprise when I got home.
Ken had made us Cherry Danish for breakfast.

Did my morning chores around the house.
Got Meatballs made and in the slow cooker with sauce
for meatball subs for supper tonight.

After lunch we stopped up at the house.
The painter Randy, (another church member)
was there spraying the primer coat on all the walls and ceiling.
He was just about done.
It is so nice having so many members from our church working on our house.
It almost seems like a church project.  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Just before suppertime last night we got a call from our
son David, saying he couldn't make it up the driveway to the cabin
because of the snow and was stuck.  He got up part way and then started sliding
backwards.  So Ken went up there and pulled him free with the tractor.
God was surely watching out for David.
Look where the car came to rest.
It looks like his car is touching the tree but it just stopped short of it.
Kenny said you couldn't get a credit card between the car and the tree
without it getting stuck.

Got some work done around the house this afternoon
and also read a little while.

Life is Good
Count your blessings and have a happy day.

  2. We had snow squalls off and on today with some of them heavy at times. Then early evening this evening we had another one and it piled up some significant snowflakes...probably had an inch or two out of it and with it being colder at that time of day it stuck.

Your breakfast sounds yummy...thankful for God's protection on David.

  4. More snow. Glad the car stopped before it hit the tree and that you have a tractor to pull it out. We have been paying attention to the slope of the driveways on houses we are looking at to buy since we don't own a tractor. :)

  7. I'd hate to live where you are in the winter, but I wouldn't mind in the summer.

  8. Hello, you have much more snow there in the mountains then we get here. The first photo does look like a snow globe. I am glad your son vehicle was ok, it is close to the tree. The Cherry Danish sounds yummy. Enjoy your day!

  9. So much snow. Over here it is mostly grey with some rain every now and then. Still quite cold in the evenings.

    Keep warm. God bless.
