Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Back to walking and blogging

Today I decided I've been sick long enough.
Tired of sitting around the house so I bundled up and headed out the door for a walk.
I waited until later in the morning when it was light and the sun was out.
No wind but it was a chilly 19 degrees.
Thought I'd just walk around a bit without any specific amount of miles in mind.
Had on my snow sneakers with ice grippers.
First walked over to the library and dropped off some books down the drop.
Next stop public works to drop off the water bill.
Walked down through town, around both of the cemeteries
and around the ball park loop.
Here are a few pictures I took along the way.

The sun made the snow look like glitter was sprinkled on top of it.
Lots of animal tracks around.  Not sure what this is from.
I ended up walking 3.8 miles.
I was a bit tired at the end of my walk but felt good.
So nice to get outside in the sunshine.
Feeling the sun on my face is like medicine.

The house continues to get worked on.
The propane tank had been delivered and hooked up.
Electric is just about finished.
The garage doors have been delivered and installed.

Today we drove up to Morgangtown to a stone store with Ronnie
and picked out the stone that will be on the porch and inside the house on the wall
by the gas stove in the living room.

The kitchen cabinets have been chosen as well.
They will be white and some will have glass doors.
So many decisions have to be made.
It is fun though.  I've never had a house that I've been able to
pick out everything.

Well that is it for today.
Nice to be back to blogging too.
Will be around to visit you all and see what you've been up to these
late couple of weeks.

Thanks for all the prayers, well, wishes and cards while I've been
sick.  Still have a cough which will probably last another week or so
and still get tired more easily than I should but it sure feels
great to be back.

Count your blessings and have a happy and healthy day.

Hello Karen, I haven't been doing much blogging the last few weeks, so I didn't know that you had been sick, but very nice to hear that you are on the mend. I always enjoy walking with you, your photos are so tranquil and relaxing.

Praying that you are better soon.

I like the Groucho Marx quote at the top of your Blog. I did not know he said that.

God bless.

This sounds like a wonderful walk! I like that you can just walk to town to pay your bills.

Is that raccoon print?

Hello, pretty snowy scenes from your walk. Your house seems like it is moving along nicely, I can't wait to see it finished. Glad to see you are feeling better. Enjoy your day and weekend!

Yay! Back to walking and blogging must have felt great. Glad that you were not pushing yourself. That’s very cold air to be breathing. Have been watching a lot of DIY shows about building a home...amazing all the decisions to be made. My daughter had a difficult time with it sometimes when her home was being built, but sounds as if you are enjoying the process. Can’t wait to see the progress.

Sorry to hear you've been sick too. Hopefully we'll have our energy back soon.
Snow sneakers are a heavy duty walking shoe that is a bit higher around the ankle and waterproof.

Maybe, I was thinking maybe it could also be a skunk.

Glad that you are feeling better! Getting outside surely helped you, breathing in that fresh air and everything...beautiful pics. What I want for my kitchen cabinets sounds similar to yours...I would even love some refurbished from a vintage kitchen, if possible. Fun stuff!
