Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Foggy Morning, Sunny Afternoon

Foggy Morning
๐ŸŒฐ     ๐ŸŒฐ     ๐ŸŒฐ
A bit of a late start walking again this morning.  With these dark mornings I'm
just not waking up as early.  Didn't leave the house till 7:10.

It was 52 degrees and foggy.
A very quiet Saturday morning and I had a nice random walk all over town
including both cemeteries and the ball park loop.

One of the horses was in the pasture by the Drane house
but she was busy eating and didn't even look up at me.
Saw three blue jays.
No people about.
By the time I got home the fog was all gone and the sun was
shining brightly.

Walked 6 miles

After breakfast did a couple of chores including getting a load
of wash hung out on the line.
Then we set out for Happy Trails for the day.
Stopped at the Rolling Pin Bakery and picked up sandwiches for lunch
to take up there with us.  I had turkey with Swiss cheese, lettuce,
tomato, and a little mayonnaise on two thick pieces of wheat bread
which was made this morning.  It sure was good.

There is a path from the new house site to the cabin which is
about a quarter of a mile through the woods but it is kind of rough.
Today we cleared it better.  Cut down a few small trees and cleared out
sticker bushes and grape vines.  It is now wide enough to bring the
ATV through it.

Our neighborhood cows were out and we went across the street
to see them.  Most of them walked over by us for a look
and one of them sniffed my hand.
When we got back home we sat out on the swing and ate an apple
enjoying the beautiful summer like day.
72 degrees.

Topped the day off making homemade pizza for supper.
Got some reading done and later
I'll have some ice cream, watch a Doc Martin episode
and maybe do a little knitting.

Life is Good.
A smile from me to you.

Don't blame you for sleeping in just a little. I love the fog in the morning. Reminds me of London movies. We were leaving Co. today and drove through a terrible snowstorm. Now we are in UT, but not heading home until tomorrow. We had new wood floors installed and can't walk on them until late tonight. It sounds like you've been very busy, but I'm glad you took the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather.
hugs,
Jann

I haven't seen the local cows in awhile. I used to see them almost everyday when my dog was alive.

Lovely foggy scene, but you already knew I would like that one.Cows usually seem inquisitive and come to check out what's going on.

Looks like your cow neighbors might like some treats from their new neighbors.

Sounds like a picture-perfect day! Your top photo is really, really beautiful. Love the fog. It's so good to get some profitable labor done, like the trail clearing, and then look forward to good food and relaxation at night.
