Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cabin and house progress

The driveway heading up to the cabin at Happy Trails.
A cloudy morning today for my walk and 48 degrees.
The sky gets a bit of a glow to it at about 7:00, until then it is dark
like the middle of the night.
There was a  little light shower that came and went in a few minutes.

Walked a few miles around town, saw Cathy and walked a couple of miles
with her around the cemeteries and then
finished walking on my own around town again.

We saw a bunch of geese fly overhead and they were low enough
that we heard their wings.  Neat sound!!

Rolling Pin Bakery closed Sundays and Mondays so no delicious
smells coming from there today.

Walked 6.2 miles
No coins today but yesterday I found 2 pennies and a dime.

Got a good start on my house cleaning for the week this morning.

Ken was going to make doors for the bottom of the built in hutch he
made up at the Cabin at HT and under the sink.
But I thought it would be nice to just put some curtains there.
I had some old curtains that I wasn't using anymore and I cut them
to fit and then hemmed them.
Went up there this afternoon and hung them there.
We like how it turned out.
Ken drove down to the house site and I walked down through
the path in the woods to see the progress on the house.
Here are pictures of the end of the work day.
The back of the house with Ken peeking through the French doors opening
in the kitchen.
And a couple inside pictures.
I'm in the back corner here and in the bedroom.
The windows you see from right to left are in the closet,
the bathroom, and the bedroom we are going to use as our office.
Picture taken to the left from the above picture.
The far left corner is the living room.
For supper tonight we went to Brenda's for half price pizza day.
We do that often on Monday's.

Home now for the rest of the evening.
Reading
Knitting
Netlix
and the best part, ice cream.

A smile from me to you.

Your hutch curtains and kitchen sink curtains look adorable! They turned out so well. I was walking around in a build over the weekend. It’s fun to dream along.

I like what you did with the hutch curtains, I have that exact dinnerware. Your new home is looking great, I know the excitement just increases as you see it go up. What a great blessing!
Thank you for visiting me and for your sweet thoughts.
Blessings,
Sue

I love seeing the progress of your house project. I love the curtains on the hutch and also at the kitchen sink. This is a look that I love as well and something that I plan to do when we build...TONS of pins on my Pinterest page. And that sink...I LOVE it!

I just realized how many times I said "love" in my comment...LOL!

Unlike the curtains better than solid doors. The curtains seem to suit the environment.

I haven't visited in a few days and the house has really changed...moving right along. I like the curtains on the hutch and the sink, too...they fit in with the country look!

Love the driveway-to-the-cabin view. The curtains look great! Pretty Pfaltzgraff display, my favorite! The house is coming right along....

Wow! I think it's been a while since I saw photos of the cabin, and it looks fabulous! Your built-in cabinets are great. I would love some like that in my kitchen when we redo it. The curtains are light, pretty, and perfect! I like that look. So much good stuff going on!

Wow, I am reading backwards. They did a lot of work in the five days between this and your most recent post. I like the hutch. Will the cabin be a guest cottage for grandkids and such?
