Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Mexican Train Night

🐞     🐞
Temperature this morning while walking was 64 degrees.  Took along my umbrella
because it looked like rain at any moment.
At times there was a VERY light spritz of rain but not enough for
the umbrella.  The little spritz felt nice and cool.

Another one of those random walks all over the place.
At one point I walked down toward HT.
They have working on another building at the car dealer in town for
quite a while too.  Here's the latest on that job.
Another quiet morning around town and didn't see anyone at all out walking.

While walking past one of the corn fields I heard quite a rustle in the corn.
My first thought was I hope it isn't a bear!  But it was just 2 deer that
came charging out of the corn about 40 feet ahead of me.

Walked 6 miles
🚶     🚶
Ken got a call saying the tractor was ready for pickup so this morning we went back
to the dealer in WV with the trailer.
Even though Ken had marked with a green tag the hose that had to be
replaced, they replaced the wrong one.
Since they have to reorder another hose and then put it on we did NOT
come home with the tractor.
Well at least we don't have to worry about the other hose leaking now.

We had  friends over this evening for a game night of playing
Mexican Train so this afternoon I baked some
German Chocolate Cookies  and  Blueberry Muffins
I also put out the Welsh Cookies I baked the other day.
Watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries and grapes were also set out.

It had been quite a while since we all got together to play Mexican Train
and we had a lot of fun.
Everyone went home with little bags of goodies that were left over.

Hope your day was a happy one.

That sounds like an enjoyable time...leaving home with a bag of goodies sounds good, too. It is a good thing your hubby marked the hose that needed to be replaced.

Your Mexican Train nights sound like such fun. Wow, that dealership has had your tractor for quite a while. Takes a bit of time to get things fixed. I am currently waiting to get one of my vacuum cleaners repaired. I hope you have a great weekend. I love to check in and see what you are doing. I hope to be posting much more often. Have a good one, my friend!

Saw the picture of the beautiful sunflowers that you grow. I tried, but have no luck. Are the sunflowers the "mammouth giants". They look like they are pretty big.
I also mailed a Birthday card to your Mom. I hope Aunt Ida will like receiving the card. Wish I would see her again.

Hello, pretty flowers and photos. The game night sounds like a fun time with your friends. I am sure your cookies were a big hit. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

Makes you wonder if bears even try going in corn fields since I can't remember if they would even try to eat corn or not even as extra food

Sounds like a nice day except maybe for the unneeded trip to pick up the tractor. That top photo is beautiful, I love Queen Anne Lace, it doesn't grow here (wild anyway) I wonder if you can buy seeds for it?
Game night with friends . . . what a lovely way to spend an evening :)
Happy Saturday!
Connie :)

Glad it was deer and not a bear. Never heard of Mexican Train. Your walk scenery is lovely.

Ooo - I like the idea of the goodie bag afterward. What fun! I have a Mexican Train night coming up with my girlfriends in mid August. We always cook supper at one house; this time it will be burgers. But I like your goodie bag idea better :)
