Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Barn Collective

An old barn/shed along the Farm Loop that I walk.
Linking up with Tom for his Barn Collective Series.
🌻     🌻
60 degrees this morning when I walked and cloudy.  A couple of times
a few rain drops fell but it never rained.

Walked behind my house, through town, up Barn Sale a little way,
toward Happy Trails, and then back town.  Around the cemeteries a
couple of times, once around the ball park loop and home.

The horses were like statues today, they never moved while I talked to them
and took their picture.
Didn't see anyone else out.  Pretty quiet around town.

Walked 6.3 miles
Didn't find any coins today but yesterday on my walk I found
a quarter and a penny.

This month is my walking anniversary.  I've been taking a morning walk
since 1988, 29 years.
🌻     🌻
Went up to Happy Trails in the morning.  I sanded, swept, vacuumed, and then
painted the floor in the cabin.  We thought a lot about what kind of floor
to put in and for now we are just going to have it painted.  We can do
something else at a later time.
It still needs some more wood filler between the joints and another couple
of coats of paint.  I have a braided rug that I can put down on the floor.
Here is the before I got to work.  You can also see the stone Ken put on the all  where
the propane stove will go and the blue hutch he built.
Here I've finished painting and I'm standing in the opposite corner
from the first picture.
Ken had planned on clearing an area where the hole can be dug for
the perk test at the house sight but the rain kept him from that.
So he was up doing some stuff in the wood shop and then down at
the tractor barn.
We went back home lunch time.

Later in the day we went to church to pick up the church trailer and loaded the
finished Romans books that have been assembled.  Tomorrow we will go
to PA and drop them off and pick up another pallet of 20,000 to be assembled.
More about these next 20,000 in another post.

Back home now for a nice evening at home.
A happy day to you.

Rose - No, not our church, it is one of three in my town.   Our church is 20 miles down the road.

That cabin is a true labor of love and will be a cozy retreat once it's all done.

I enjoyed this update on your cute little HT. I love all of the details including the blue hutch. I think the sign needs to say men and women working. You two seem to work so well together.

You certainly have some lovely things to see during your morning walks. Congratulations on 29 years of walking everyday...that is something to be proud of! I am in love with that kitchen sink. May I ask if it is vintage or a reproduction? I want this kind of sink in the farmhouse but don't know whether to get new or find a good old one....and they can be so $$$$! You can email me if you'd like but I would like to know where you got your sink. Thank you!

I'm always inspired by your activity and all you get done in a day. The moss has no time to grown under you for sure. Cabin is coming together well!

Love that barn. And no wonder you are a happy woman, 29 years of morning walks will do that for you. Of that, I'm sure.

We were heading out this morn and I saw someone walking, and it reminded me that I forgot to say congratulations on the walking every day for 29 years! That is awesome...I don't know how I forgot to comment last night!

It is sad to see those old barns. They seem to long for past times.
Cool kind of sturdy cattle you have. Was a bit confused to see them. :)
