58 degrees this morning and sunny during my morning walk.
Stayed around town today. Walked behind my house, through town
around both cemeteries and the ball park loop.
The pond down by the Drane house with Mamma Goose and her babies.
Looks like lots of pollen on the pond.
Back to a quiet morning around town.
Didn't see anyone.
Walked 6.2 miles

We both had dentist appointments this morning but the office called and
cancelled them. On the one hand I was glad but it would be nice to go and
have it over with.
We got some work done in the yard today.
There were 4 lilac bushes by the stone patio and we thought they
were just too big to be there.
So we decided to transplant them up at the property line in back
in between some forsythia bushes that were there.
Handy having the tractor to dig them up and then dig the holes
to plant them in.
Here they are transplanted between the forsythia.
On one side of the where we dug out the lilacs, I dug up some daisies from
the front yard and planted them there.
On the other side I will be planting lily of the valley. I have some in another
part of the yard and will take them from there.
part of the yard and will take them from there.
The daisies aren't looking so hot right now, but they are just in shock
and should perk up.
That pretty much took all day to do.
Glad we finally got it done though.
Hope your day was a happy one.

It's amazing how one word from the right person
can turn your whole day around
and make you feel better in a second.

...you have your own nursery going on there.
Good shot of the geese and her babies
Wow, you had a busy day! I agree about the dentist. Always better to just get it over with!
I love seeing all the babies that are born this time of the year. It would be nice to have a tractor to dig up bushes. I have three now, waiting to be dug. I just go at it with a shovel and a mattock. It is a job but I stick with it.
I wondered how you were going to transplant bushes so big - until I remembered that Ken has a tractor to play with!
Replanting shrubs and other plants takes time but in the end it is so worth it. I try not to do too much of that anymore, as I must do it alone, making it much harder.
You and Ken make such a great team & your property is looking so good!
Nice to see mother goose!
Karen, you can just transplant one of those lilac bushes right here in Tennessee> LOL Although, I understand they don't grow in this area. They do up on the Cumberland plateau in Crossville though. Love the goose! Such pretty walks you take. Have a great day.
Hello, love the goose and babes! You and your hubby do work hard on keeping your property beautiful!
Great quote!
Have a happy day and weekend!
So sweet to se Mummy Goose and babies! A lovely photograph.
Well done on transplanting the lilac bushes, a good job well done!
All the best Jan
I bet you felt good when that job was done!
Hi Karen, just catching up on your week. Looks like you have been busy. Your tractor sure came in handy! It is a good day when you can spend it in the garden! 😀
Take care.
Robin
Looks like a good day with some good walking and some good views thrown it for good measure!
What a lot of work! It's good you have a tractor to help. That would be hard with a shovel. You really did musical chairs with your plants, but I'm sure the end result will be much better. How I wish we could grow lilacs down here! It is too hot.
