Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rainy walk

💐     💐
It was 46 degrees and raining buckets when I left.
Definitely a morning for wearing my rain paints and slicker today.
I even wore my snow sneakers because there was no way to avoid walking in puddles.
So glad I finally found something to keep my feet dry and still be able to walk at a good clip.

Walked all over town up and down all the streets, around one of the cemeteries and the ball park loop.  Walked up the road to the little park too.

No one else out walking or running on this rainy morning.

Four miles into my walk it started getting very windy with some strong gusts.  The kind where you get pushed along or going against the wind it pushes you back a step.  It always makes me laugh when that happens.  The good thing about the wind is that it blew the rain clouds away and the last mile there was no rain.  Late morning the sun came out.
 Walked 6.2 miles
💐     💐
We ended up having a beautiful sunny day though it did stay windy.

I finally got a nice neat edge dug around the one front garden down by the road.
Got some logs out back moved out of the way.  They were big and heavy
so I rolled them out of the way.

Some friends (2 couples) of ours stopped by this afternoon to take a look
at Ken's trains.  We also sat around and visited a while.
My cone flowers have started poking their way up out of the dirt.
Both women said they like cone flowers so I dug up a bunch for each one of them.

When they left we went to pick up the tractor from the dealer.
FINALLY they were done with the service on it.
Nice to have it again.  Ken really missed it!!!

Ken made us cheese nachos for supper this evening.
It's been another good day.
Hope you had a good one too.

A happy day to you.

Giselle - Yes, the missionaries did like the arrangement.  It has been a good week getting to know the missionaries.  They have some wonderful stories to tell.

We need rain but didn't get any...we did get the wind though. I'm glad you enjoyed your walk. I skipped mine tonight and hubby and I stood outside and watched the sunset. Enjoy your weekend! Hugs!

So glad to hear that the sun has come out. Hope that it sticks around for you. It is so chilly these days even way down there! Love seeing the spring robin perched on the planter. I have only seen one robin this spring.

I had to laugh (at myself) I was happy to have walked for 17 minutes this morning (and that was not a 15 minute mile for sure, more like 1/4 one). You should be so proud of your long walks, it is amazing that you keep them up like that. And what a great way to record them.

You are one dedicated walker, my friend. How fun to have two couples stop by to see Ken's trains. He certainly has put a lot of work into them.

Are you having snow today? Maybe that is tomorrow that we are supposed to have snow flurries. I'm ready for the warmer temperatures to come and stay!

xx
