Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Lots of rain

🍀     🍀     🍀
When I woke up this morning it was pouring down rain with thunder
and lightning so I thought it a good idea not to go outside and walk.
Got some of my steps inside today.

On the step challenge for the month of February on Walker Tracker I am
in 5th place out of 65 (a few more people have joined the challenge)
and have walked 75,499 steps over the challenge for February.
The challenge is 15,017 per day.
I've hit my first million steps for the year with a total of 1,009,738.

Not very many coins did I find this month.
Just 1 dime and 6 pennies.

Baked another batch of Snickerdoole Cookies for the kids at church
and now I have enough.  Have some left over and Ken and I get to eat them.
I will be giving a few of the extras to Jasmine tonight when I see her at church.
These are her favorite cookies and she is the one who gave me the train
and cat cookie cutters a while back.

Ken was looking through a book that he got off our book shelves
and tucked in side was this bookmark that I had made years ago.
I had forgotten all about it.
Mid afternoon there was a break in the rain so I went for a shortish walk then.
Went over to the post office and then around town.
 Just went 3 1/2 miles.
Though it was 50 degrees it was very windy and cloudy and felt colder.

We have gotten a LOT of rain and behind the ball park loop the
brook that runs along there is usually pretty small.
This is what it looked like today.

A good day for working on our latest puzzle
and I got a little reading done too.

A happy day to you.

Robin - No, we don't usually burn the brush.  Some of it we use to make a natural fence or we just move it up the hill with the tractor and make a big pile of it.
Happy Trails is 21 acres of woods so there really is no need to burn it.  We do have a fire barrel though and burn scrap wood.

The picture of your plant on the window sill is so pretty, Karen. How neat that Ken found the bookmark you'd made a while back! It is very pretty. I like all of the colors in it. Hope you have a wonderful evening.

Our weather today was rainy/stormy with heavy downpours. I love your plant. I need this in my classroom!

Your pothos plant appears to be very happy in your window.
What a fun surprise to find the bookmark.
Did you send some of your rain down here? It is currently storming like crazy out there. If so, my garden and I thank you :).

Well that quote made me smile...some days I write off as total wastes, but perhaps not! Glad that the sweet bookmark was found. It was foggy and misty here this first day of March. I puttered my way through it never even going to the mailbox.

We have had lots of rain too and some of the paths I walk were flooded or just too messy to walk!
THat's a cute bookmark! Hope you enjoy your day!

I love snickerdoodles too! Such a cute book mark. Isn't it fun to find things you forgot you had? I enjoy rainy days, if I don't have to go out them that is! Have a great day.

That was a lot of rain. Glad you were finally able to get out and walk. Congrats on your walking status amongst the participants! My steps really went down while we were in snow covered Colville. I hope to get back up to over 10,000 again. Snickerdoodles are a great cookie to share! Have a great Thursday.

Hi Karen, thanks for answering my question! We received your heavy rain late last night along with strong winds. It was noisy!
Congrats on your steps! You are in such good shape.
Take care.
