Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Saturday

More blue skies
🌹     🌹     🌹
Quite warm this morning at 7:00 when I headed out the door for my walk.
42 degrees and very windy, and so nice to be able to get outside to walk in
the sun shine with just my walking shoes.  No boots, ice grippers or snow sneakers.
With it being warm all the snow and ice is melting quickly.
Still places of ice around so I just avoided those streets and sidewalks.

Walked up to the cemetery but not around it. As you can see there are icy patches
 so I avoided it.
Walked down the main road and up Sale Barn.
Very windy up there in the open.
Once I got back to the main road I walked down towards Happy Trails a ways
before turning around and headed back to town.
Turned left just before getting to the church.
Then walked over to the industrial park and then back home.
Pretty quiet around town but I did see Lisa running.

Sure enjoyed my walk today.  😊
Walked 6 miles

One of my cousins came across some old pictures and has sorted them out
into piles for each of us and is going to mail them to us.
This one he emailed to me.
We were having a picnic for my Gramma's (Dads Mom) birthday at my aunts house.
This picture is of two of my cousins
three aunts and two wives of cousins.
I'm there in the middle with the dark hair and my daughter Debbi is looking
up at me.
This was September 5, 1982
I think it was Gramma's 85th birthday.
She lived another 12 years.

We finished another puzzle.  An easy one, only 500 pieces.
Stayed home during the day doing house stuff.

The sun was out all day and it got up in the 50's and by the end
of the day all the snow was gone.

We decided to go out for pizza for supper so we went to Brenda's.
I also had a salad to go along with my 2 slices of pizza.

Have to do Body Electric (exercise CD) yet and then
I plan on watching Netflix, making some more weave-it squares,
and yes, having my ice cream.

Hope your day was a happy one.

I like that photo from the 80's. Wow, your gramma lived to 97! That's great. Glad you could have a walk without extra protection today. Hubby and I have walked away from home two days in a row now. You are inspiring me to move more. I've had a solid week of over 10,000 steps! That is a funny quote.

Hi Happyone, Just spent a few minutes looking at all your posts back to Feb. 2nd. I don't think I would ever get tired of looking at the pictures you take on your walk and around your part of the world there. On Feb. 2 your first picture of the bare trees and the snow is just gorgeous. On Feb. 9 your pics sure showed the snow storm in action. Nice work there! On Feb. 10 that blue plate from Aunt Betty's reminded me of some railroad china. I wonder if Ken collects such things? I have a few pieces of railroad china and love them. Some of those old patterns were really beautiful! In this Feb. 11 post I especially like your first picture of the snow and fence and then the picture of church as you are walking back into town. And to top it all off, your new header is just great! Thanks for sharing all! Best regards to you and Ken from Seattle!

Gramma looks very smart in the picture and the rest of the ladies, too.

Your photos are always so pretty. I'm glad that you carry your camera on your walks and share with us. You made me laugh with that quote.

What treasures and memories those photos must hold for you. I've been going through some old photos as well and have sent a couple batches to my daughter. Amazing that the snow is all gone. When do you get your next batch?

Thanks for sharing the photo of your family. Lovely to see.
Oh, you had sunshine and warm temperatures, lucky you! We are in the middle of a snowstorm right now. NOT fun walking today. It was really slippery but we both managed to stay on our feet.
Have a wonderful Sunday Karen!

It was a lovely day, wasn't it? We had 59*F here and all of our snow is gone. When we woke up this morning and heard it raining so hard I told my husband that I was glad that it wasn't snow coming down that hard!

Your puzzle is so pretty...and I love the quote...definitely has a point!
