Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A bit of sun today

🌹     🌹     🌹
When I got up it was 13 degrees and dark.
I thought I'd better wait until it was light out so I could see where the ice
was.  After missing an outside walk yesterday I was determined to get out
there today.

I didn't leave until 9:30 and walked the Farm Loop.  Figured it would be the
road with the least amount of snow and ice because the school is there
and they do a pretty good job of keeping the road clear.
To get there I have to walk along the main road and that is clear too.
Also the kids were in school so there were no school buses to pass me along
the road.  A good plan and a good walk.  😊
The temperature had warmed up some too and it was 19 degrees
and at times the sun was even out.

Didn't see anyone else out along the way.
Didn't walk my usual 6 miles though.  When I got back to town there
was lots of ice around and I didn't have my grippers on so just went home
and during the rest of the day got the rest of my steps in around the house.
A couple of pictures along the way.
Just turned off the main road here.

A left turn about a 1/2 mile up the road from the above picture
puts me on this road which runs pretty much parallel to the main road.
Walked 5 miles

Another day at home for me and got some more house cleaning done.

Finished reading my book, Still Missing by Chevy Stevens.
Annie is a realtor and is abducted by a man at an open house.
From the cover,
"Interwoven with the story of the year Annie spent captive in a
remote mountain cabin - which unfolds through sessions with her
psychiatrist - is a second narrative recounting the nightmare that follows
her escape:  her struggle to piece her shattered life back together......"
The book was for sure a page turner for me and I thought it very good,
though there is some bad language in it.

Ken had to go out this evening so I was on my own for supper and can
you guess what I had for supper?
Pancakes.
I put some mini chocolate chips in them so it was like eating a dessert for supper.

A happy day to you and a smile from me to you.

You certainly are a trooper when it comes to walking! I somehow missed dropping by here yesterday...Karen, you are so sweet to have shared a link to my blog. I now understand why I had some ladies comment last evening and today that they were visiting from over at your blog. :-) We are happy we said yes, too. :-) I love the tickets!

Hi Karen, glad you able to get out for a walk today. It looks like it was lovely.
I was home for most of the day except for a quick walk over to return library books.
Your book you just finished sounds very good. I will look for it at the library.
I love today's quote. Very true!
Sounds like you had a yummy supper! ;)
Take care.

I love breakfast for dinner. Perfect choice for a meal alone. I'm happy to report I've had a few over 10,000 steps a day this week. Hope you have a nice weekend.

I think that you are the mother that my daughter wants me to be. She is asking me to go on a week long hike this summer on the Pacific Crest trail. That would be great for someone in your shape, but not for an old three miles and I'm really to flop gal like me, LOL.

Glad your plan to walk paid off & you enjoyed it! My kids love to have pancakes when they come home from school on cold days! & then they'll even ask for more next morning for breakfast!
