Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Tuesday

⛄     ⛄     ⛄
Got a late start walking this morning and didn't leave until 7:45.
It was a bit warmer this morning at 26 degrees.  It snowed a bit over night so I
had my ice grippers on my snow boots.
While I was walking a few snow flurries were flying around and the wind
picked up a bit but still I stayed warm layered up.

Walked on side roads and around both cemeteries and the ball park loop
a few times staying out of the way of the snow plows.
It takes longer walking in snow and wearing boots then when I can
just wear my walking shoes.  I've probably used up a bit more calories too.

Didn't see anyone else out walking.
Walking through the post office parking lot one of the postal workers
were out there and said to me,  "Isn't it a beautiful morning to be out
walking?"  Ah this man understands. : )

Stopped by public works and dropped off the water bill.
I walked 6.2 miles

Bowling day has come around once again.
Today there were 7 of us bowling.
No record scores today, just our average bowling, some good games
and some not so good, but still a fun time.

Did a few things around the house when we got back home.
Didn't finish the baby blanket yesterday.  Still have the last
row to sew on and that will be done in a little while.

A smile from me to you.

FG - I think the number of quilt barns here in Garrett County where I live has 38 of them.  It's been fun driving around finding them.

Glad you have a path that you can avoid the snow plows on. I had almost 5 miles of activity today. woohoo. We need to go bowling sometime soon.

Bowling is always such fun. We finally made it out of the 20's today and headed for a warm up.

Your snow pictures are so pretty, Karen. Glad you were able to get out for your walk and also to go bowling. Looking forward to seeing the baby blanket when you get that last row stitched on.

Yes, from those pictures, I would agree with the postal worker. You really did have a beautiful morning to be out walking. Hope the rest of your day was just was good. Enjoy your evening.

So few people see the beauty of the snow. I think it is gorgeous.I must admit that even though I love the snow, the cold, cold temperatures wear me down.

I'm shocked you have a water bill from how rural a place you live. I live 3 miles from the "city" and even I'm on well water. There's no public works, not even fire hydrants

Thanks for sharing the encouraging quote about God being there for us. I really like the photo of the horses in the snow. It's really impressive how you keep up your walking schedule. Sunday I ran 5 miles, and Monday I ran three miles. But today we had rain in the morning, and then it froze up, so we have ice everywhere. I decided to just stay in. It was too icy to even take a drive to the gym. Stay warm!

I do so love your snowy pictures. Horses around here have rugs on to keep them warm in the cold and damp conditions. We rarely have snow here and when we do everything grinds to a stop!!
I don't know how you find the time to post so much. It takes me ages to download any photos!
Enjoy the rest of your week and stay warm :)

Hi Karen, I definitely think we use up more calories slogging through the snow! We don't see too many people out walking in the winter either but like you we meet the odd person who "gets" it. To be able to get outside everyday is a blessing.
Enjoy your day!

Such pretty pictures of the snowy scenes in your area. We are beginning a big warm up so the snow will soon be gone. Very foggy this morning.

Yes, the postman gets it! Beautiful walk indeed. Our snow has finally melted and the temps are up in the 50s today with rain.
