Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Quilt Barn Square (19)

Linking up again this Monday with Tom and his Barn Collective Series.
I continue with another Quilt Barn.
This one is located on Cove Road in Garrett County, Maryland
and is on the barn of Jim and Ruby Margroff.
The pattern is called Old Maid's Puzzle and is in the
John Deere tractor colors.

A misty rainy walk this morning.  35 degrees and now all our snow is gone already.
Left this morning at 7:00 and took along my umbrella and it went
up and down quite a few times.
One time the wind blew it inside out. It wasn't really windy just
once in a while a big gust would come along.

Walked behind my house and then through town, around both cemeteries
a couple of times and then on the side roads.  No pattern to my walk
just walked all over the place.

No else about but the school buses are around again
since the kids are back to school today after the holidays.
I was surprised they didn't have off today too.

Walked 6.2 miles
Found a penny today and a penny yesterday.
A good start for the new year.  😊

Home today.
Just doing a bit of this and that around the house.
It's been a deary cloudy day.
Did some cleaning
laundry
reading
puzzling
and I've made a few weave-it squares for the current baby blanket I'm working on.

A smile from me to you.

"That life is to my liking which made up of little deeds,
little sacrifices, little kindnesses."
Birthday letter quoted in J R Macduff, Birthdays, 1893

I've started another blog.  This one is mostly for myself and a place
to keep my recipes.  I've put my recipes in a few on line cookbooks over
the years and they all eventually go away.
Thought it would be a good idea to keep them on a blog.
I just have a few so far but will be adding to it.
It is called Karen's Kitchen

I have really enjoyed viewing all of these quilt barn squares that you have collected, Karen. I first learned about them from a blogging friend out in Kansas who took pictures of all the ones she could find around her. I have said for probably three years that it was something I would like to do, but haven't. Now you have done the "leg work" for me. I enjoy reading the history behind them and also about whose property they are on.

Now Karen, that's a pretty sight. Put a little snow on the ground and it would picture prefect. The red barn and white fence is wonderful. The quilt block also looks like tow ties or butterflies. Thanks for stopping by, I hope that you will stop back again.

Hi Karen, I heard you were supposed to be very warm tomorrow. Isn't this the craziest winter so far? We are supposed to get quite a bit of rain tomorrow. What little snow we have left will be gone.
Beautiful Quilt Barn Square. Is that a chicken perched in the open door above it???
Have a wonderful evening!

Hello, love the quilt barn. Another great barn find. I would think most schools are starting back today, I hope that means less traffic for us. I will check out your new blog and recipes. I enjoyed your photos, very pretty. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day and new week ahead!

It's pretty yucky here today. I'm not sure about schools here. I believe someone said they were starting back on the 4th.
