Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Book Number One

This is what winter is supposed to look like here.  These pictures are from last year.

But no snow today except for a few flurries in the morning.

Left on my walk at a little past 7:00 this morning and it was another
wet rainy one and a warm 40 degrees.
Took my umbrella and walked on the streets behind my house
and when I passed by the house going into town,  the rain had stopped
so I dropped off my umbrella at home.
I was a bit premature because it drizzled on and off all during my walk.
Just got a bit damp.  Since it was so warm I was surprised that there were a few snow flakes mixed in with the rain

Walked around town, both cemeteries and up Sale Barn Road
a little ways.  Thought maybe the cows would be out but didn't see any.

Walked back around town a bit and then went home.
No one else out again.
Walked 6.3 miles
☔     ☔     ☔
Later in the morning the sun came out and the temperature started downward,
but it remained sunny all day.

Home today puttering around the house, doing a little of this and that.
Just did the bare minimum cleaning and then Ken and I worked on the puzzle.
It is the one of the old book store and is a fun puzzle to do.
We should be finished in the next couple of days.

I finished reading my first book of the year,
Armageddon by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B Jenkins
which is the 11th book in the Left Behind Series.
I've started on number 12 which is the last book in the series.

Well, better go figure out what to make for supper.

A smile from me to you.

Are you like me and find it bitter sweet to get to the last book in a series? I of course want to read the last one, but yet, it is a bit sad to have no more adventures with those characters to read about. I am like that with the Patrick O'Brian series, I have read 17 of the 20.

I've read the beginning and the end in the Left Behind series. I enjoy reading books in a series. Your puzzle sounds very cute. I remember that photo of you hip deep in the snow from last year. Strange weather we are having. Our weather here is a lot like late spring. Have a great week.

Our day started out like yours, but the temps dropped, the winds picked up and there are flurries.

Hi Karen, we were warm to start off the day but at noon the temperature started going down. We had quite an ice pellet storm.
I stayed home today too and reorganized kitchen cupboards.
Can't wait to see the bookstore puzzle!

It feels so cold at that temperature when it's rainy. Hope the sun comes out tomorrow! Enjoy your evening! Hugs, Diane

We are cold here for the Puget Sound. Brrr. Ice everywhere. Glad you could get your walk in. Like the quote from Corrie Ten Boom

We started out at 40 degrees and rain this morning, but it eventually cleared some and the sun came out. It looked a lot warmer than it was because at some point today the temperatures began dropping...and the wind was unreal! Glad you had a good walk.

I'm excited to see this puzzle when you and Ken are finished. I love books, so I think it will be fun to see this puzzle!

Good morning, I think I would rather have the rain than snow. Pretty scene with the fence and trees. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

What a difference a year makes! That was a lot of snow last year. Glad you are not digging out this year :) Enjoy your puzzle. Be sure to post a pic of it.

Wow, that snow! It must be making life a lot easier not having to deal with it this year, especially for walking xx

No snow or rain for us today ... we've had a gloriously sunny day with blue skies, but quite chilly about four degrees, great for walking and enjoying some fresh air!

All the best Jan
