Linking up with Tom for the Barn Collective series today.
This is the old barn down by the Drane house where I walk. Took the pictures
a couple of weeks ago.
This is another Quilt Square but it isn't on a barn but on Friend's Store
in McHenry, Md in Garrett County
The quilt square is the Flying Geese pattern.
I took these picture months ago.

41 degrees this morning and back to walking in the rain.
It was windy out and some big gusts came along once in a while.
Since it was warm and I didn't have to wear a lot of layers I wore my rain slicker.
It is not big enough to wear over layers.
Walked all over town up and down all the streets.
Went around the ball park loop a few times and one of the
cemeteries.
Didn't see anyone else out this morning.
It rained the whole time.
Never did take my camera out of my pocket.
Walked 6.2 miles

Last night I finished reading The Mountain Story by Lori Lansens.
Once I started reading it, it was hard to put down.
Wolf Truly takes a cable car 8,000 feet up a mountain
with the intention of taking his own life.
Through a series of mishaps he gets lost and is stranded
among the forested cliffs with three women.
Four go up the mountain but only four come down.
I thought the book was very good.

Got some cleaning done today.
Then enjoyed a bit of coloring.
The temperature dropped and the rain coming down turned into snow.
I'd rather have the snow than the rain.
Brightens things up a bit with all that white and makes everything pretty.
Haven't made up my mind about supper yet.
I'm hoping to go to Brenda's for half price pizza,
but we might just stay home and have spaghetti.

I enjoy seeing old barns.
Pretty coloring - I have a coloring book and colored pencils, but have not done any coloring lately. Thanks for the reminder to get it out and enjoy it again.
Have a great week!
I'm glad that you got a picture of the first barn, it may not be with us much longer. The Flying Geese pattern is so simple, but bold and interesting. Thanks so much for stopping my, enjoy your week and I hope to see you back again.
Great photos Karen, very pretty quilt on the side of the store.
We are expecting a bit of snow tonight too.
Did you have pizza for supper????
A great selection of photographs Karen ...
That looks a great pattern to colour - I like your colour choices.
Hope the week ahead is a good and happy one for you.
All the best Jan
Great barns - love the views of first one - such memories and such stories.
Hi Karen, somehow I missed viewing both Saturday and Sunday's posts, so I'll start with them. Your puzzle looks good, but I have to agree...not much color to it. Good for you guys for sticking with it though. I also agree with Ken...your lemon meringue pie looks really good! And I am certain that it tasted great! Your pictures from Sunday's post are beautiful! And look at you and all that snow you received. I was a mix of snow/rain. Carroll said coming over the mountain from work that it was all snow at Cooper's Rock...and even out at Hazelton this afternoon when he went out that way. It was slushy snow and there was an accident. You would rather have snow than rain and I can remember looking out the window at one point this morning thinking, "I'm glad this is rain and not snow." :-) Oh...and your book sounds really good. Thanks for the review! Have a great evening.
I did smile when I saw your snow. really lovely to look at.
I do like that rundown barn.
If I were retired I might prefer rain to snow as well. We had a miserable rainy day today and I was glad to be inside for most of it.
Now that's an interesting barn, even if it is a bit sad now. And I do recognize that quilt pattern.
Friend's Store is a charming little place and the quilt square looks nice on the side. I popped over to the link to learn more about it. Interesting! You did a nice job on your coloring page. Love the picture.
I've learned my wife prefers spaghetti to pizza. I don't see why
Very old barns. I am a bit curious for your book The Mountain Story!
It's important that those of us who enjoy photography, capture the old barns...before they fall down. Nice photos...and, thanks for your comment on my blog.
I love old barns. I always stop to snap pictures, too. Guess I will dig some of them out to share. And I love your ending quote! Have a fine day! Aloha!
It was freezing rain here today. I have such a mess to clean up tomorrow. Ugh. Good thing you are taking photos of the old barn because...well, at least, there'll be the photos. You color nicely. I have been coloring, too, but not as neatly nor as color intense. Guess I can't press as hard. LOL! Pizza here today...dough made in the bread machine. Will be back to find out which direction you folks went in.
That old barn has seen better days for sure.
The second picture really caught my eye! I like the barn quilt too, and the snow scene.
