Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A snowy walk

⛄     ⛄     ⛄
Well, we are getting some snow and it was a beautiful walk today with the snow
falling down all around me.  I would stop every so often just to listen to the quiet.
So very peaceful.  Loved being outside this early snowy morning.

15 degrees.  I wore my snow boots with ice grippers and never slipped at all.
I'm glad a had my snow boots on because I then was able to walk
around the cemeteries and the ball park in the deeper snow because
it is wasn't cleared.  My feet would have gotten wet in the snow sneakers.
It takes me a bit longer to walk in boots than in sneakers.

Walked behind my house and then to the post office.
Then it was off to both cemeteries and the ball park loop.
Walked around them a few times staying out of the way of the snow plows.
No people about just, me the snow plows and the school buses.
Pictures today along my walk.
Behind my house
Trail behind the ball park
Following my tracks around the ball park loop
 Walked 6.2 miles
⛄     ⛄     ⛄
Another day at home.
Ken was outside with the snow blower clearing the driveway today.

My turn is coming up again to bake the cookies for the kids
at church in a couple of weeks and I baked cookies for them.
Still have to bake another batch.  I baked them ahead and then
just freeze the cookies.  ( I need to have 120 cookies)

I've been working on the next baby blanket and made some more
weave-it squares.  Just 14 more squares to make.  I've been sewing them
up as I make them.

I read some too and will probably read some more this evening.

A smile from me to you.

Your snow pictures are so pretty, Karen. My hat is off to you for your daily walks! I'll look forward to seeing the baby blanket when you get it finished. This was a good day to read a book.

(My daughter brought me a pair of boots today...alas, too small. I hate when that happens.)

It sure is pretty there in all the snow. Will it last do you think? Even here they are saying that we are swinging back and forth 40° from one day to the next. Right now, it is in a chilly snap.

Hello, Karen! Pretty snowy images. My favorite is the first one with the street lights. I am sure your place smells heavenly with the cookies baking. Happy weekend to you!

Hi Karen - I love the snow pictures - it does look cold though. That bookstore puzzled you finished yesterday is great. I love it! That is so nice of you to do all that baking for the children at church. Have a good weekend and I will stop in for another visit soon.

That snow looks lovely, so clean and peaceful (does that make sense?). I enjoy the snow when we get it here but it does cause a lot of disruption as we never know if it will come or not.
