Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Puzzle # 6

Picture taken yesterday when out looking for quilt barns.
We were backing out of a driveway.
Taken through the windshield.
🐄     🐄     🐄
Didn't get started walking until 7:20 this morning.
Too nice and warm and cozy in bed and didn't feel like getting up.
But I finally did and had a good walk.

Walked around behind my house and that took care of the first mile.
Then through town and up Barn Sale Rd.
Planned on going all the way to the end by the curve but just made it
up part way when I saw the two dogs up ahead.
They were pretty far away so I just turned around and walked back
down the hill to the main road.  That made 3 miles.
Down toward HT a bit turned around and went back to town.
That was 4 miles walked.
Around one of the cemeteries twice, through town,
around the block, passed the library and home.
That completed my 6 mile walk.

It was 30 degrees, cloudy, but no rain, freezing rain or snow
and no wind.

Saw Kathy's parked car but not her.
She always walks the same route unlike me who likes to mix it up a bit.

No walking pictures today, nothing caught my eye.

Ken went up to Happy Trails today.
I stayed home puttering about the house.
Wrapped Ken's Christmas presents and put them under the tree.

Finished Puzzle # 6
500 pieces
This one had two pieces missing
and one extra white one.
This puzzle goes in the trash and I'll keep the white piece because it may go
to one of the other puzzles.
Even though it is Tuesday and bowling day we decided not to go.
We will start up again in January.

Mid morning it started to snow and it looked like we would
get a decent amount of snow this time but by late afternoon it had stopped
and most has melted already.

A happy day to you.

There was a time when I would have yelped about the puzzle getting tossed. About thirty years ago when we sprayed the pieces either green or white and glued them into wreaths. Do you remember that craft or are we nuts up here? Ha! Way too many dogs off leash in your corner...just like mine. It isn't pleasant.

Hi Karen, glad you noticed the two dogs and turned back. It is surprising how quickly the miles add up. Like me I imagine some days you feel like you could just keep walking for hours! Very nice quote at the end of your post.
Have a good day.

You are brave. I am very afraid of dogs, other folk's dogs anyway. I sure admire you for walking every day though. Reading about your walks makes me want to walk. The puzzle is pretty, even with two pieces missing.

Speaking of wrapping presents, that is on my "to do" list on Saturday...not ONE package wrapped yet! That fence flanked driveway is oh so photogenic!

All the best Jan

I enjoyed the photo.Occasionally, taking a picture through the car window works quite well.
