This morning I left the house at 7:00 for my morning walk.
It was 29 degrees with a bit of a wind and after sunrise it was cloudy.
Walked the Farm Loop.
Walking down the road 6 deer came out of the woods a little ways in front of me,
ran across the road and into the woods on the other side.
It all happened so fast I couldn't get a picture.
It is amazing how quickly the deer disappear into the woods.
Just before I got back to town I cut through Farmer Marvin's
barn yard. I asked him a while back if I could and he said yes.
Just on the other side and up the hill is one of the cemeteries.
I walked around there, then over to the other cemetery and then home.
It's been awhile since I walked the Farm Loop and it was nice
to walk there again. With no school I don't have to worry about
the school buses passing me on the narrow road. Also if I leave earlier
it is dark and there are no street lights.
Walked 6.3 miles

The 2016 Christmas Ball that Ken painted.
It reads
Counting our
many blessings
2016
See what God has done
This is the very first ball that Ken painted in 1972.
David's First Christmas 1972
The one to the right was in 1974 when our daughter Debbi was born.
I've started yet another puzzle. This one is a round one of flying
geese with 400 pieces.
Did a bit of reading and knitting too.
I should have been doing some housework but was having to
good a time doing other stuff.

...you sure have some nice scenery to see on your walks.
Glad you were able to share some photographs of your walk, I always enjoy them.
It's a great idea your Christmas Balls, very special.
All the best Jan
No snow? We are looking to a few feet coming...and I hope that the rumors are wrong. I'll never be able to clear that much.
Have always enjoyed Ken's tradition and this year's is a great one! Now what will 2017 hold?
Looks like a great walk today. I'm excited that I was able to do 2.58 miles today 6092 steps. My daughter bought me a fitbit for Christmas and I'm hoping to be motivated to move more this year. I really like your Christmas Balls.
For a moment I thought you were headed for a Christmas dance!
Hi Karen - sounds like you had a nice, cozy day doing just what you wanted to do! I love your red ball Christmas tradition. That is so neat. What a great quote to put on your ball this year! Life is good and we all have so much to be grateful for!
I like the idea of the hand painted Christmas balls. They are true keepsakes.
Hello, I love the Christmas balls. Wonderful photos from your walk, pretty scenery. I would like to walk thru the barn yard. Enjoy your day and weekend ahead! I wish you all the best in 2017, Happy New Year!
Hi Karen, still no snow! Lucky you, we are in the midst of a storm right now.
Your 2016 Christmas Ball is lovely.
Good luck with the new puzzle!
I love your tradition of painting Christmas ornaments! What a wonderful way to remember special times. I just love your walking routes! I would be a bit leary of walking early in the morning in darkness and approaching school buses. I plan to begin a puzzle after the new year. My first one. Haven't picked it out yet. I'll let you know. Have a blessed day.
I always enjoy your walks. I have been taking more, since I am off work for the break.
I like that Idea of the painted balls! They are lovely and unique.

I like the fence near the road..nice that you have different walking routes and vary them to keep things interesting! I also liked the photo of the barn. The Christmas balls are a neat tradition. All the best on your puzzle. My sister was always good at jigsaw puzzles, but for me they're a challenge!
Brrr. It WAS cold when I walked to the bank this afternoon.
I like the farm yard. It's pretty.
The painted Christmas balls are brilliant. Where does Debbi live?
