Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Dentist

It was 60 degrees when I left the house at 6:40 this morning.
Very warm for a November morning.
A gray morning once it wasn't dark anymore.
The only picture I took on my walk is the one above.
Not great picture taking when its dark for most of my walk.
But I'm thankful that I can get out there and walk. 😊

Walked up the hills behind my house and then all around town,
down toward HT, back to town and around one of the cemeteries.

I saw Kathy once again and there were those rabbits hopping around again.

Walked 6 miles
Found my first coin of the month - a penny.

I can't believe 6 months have passed by already since we've been
to the dentist.  But they did so off to the dentist we went for our cleaning.
I took along the chocolate chip cookies I always bake for them.
Great day at the Dentist.
I was in and out in 20 minutes!!
No problems at all and the cleaning was a breeze.
I've said this before but I highly recommend using a water pic.
A couple of minutes a day is well worth it when it comes time for that dentist visit.
Ken's cleaning went just as well as mine.

It's been a rainy day so I've been home cleaning this afternoon.
Nice to have a bit of a rest from working on the cabin.

We went out late afternoon to do a few errands and had dinner
out too.  Went to Canela's for some Mexican food.
Home now for a relaxing evening and another piece of that cheese cake.

A happy day to you.

"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us,
we often find that it is those who,
instead of giving advice,
solutions, or cures,
have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds
with a warm and tender hand.
The friend who can be silent with us in a moment
of despair or confusion,
who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement,
who can tolerate not knowing,
not curing,
not healing
and face with us the reality of our powerlessness,
that is a friend who cares."
~ Henri Nouwen

I have several friends like this and for them I am truly thankful.

your photos are always lovely. It must be wonderful to be in such a beautiful area to have something to take pics of all the time. Have you added up the miles to see how far you have walked in the last few years?

I pick up coins on my walks too and put them in my shoes under the inserts. Emptied my shoe the other day and had 27 cent. Haha.

Hooray for a good report from the dentist. I have a water pick from when my boy's had braces. I think you have inspired me to dig it out, clean it up and put it to use.

How good to hear your teeth are fine. When I find or see a coin on the ground I am reminded of what is stamped on the coin in the USA, "In God we trust." That thought makes me smile.

Yay for great dentist visits. You are such a thoughtful person, Karen. I don't know many people who make cookies to take to their dentist. I am sure they are happy to see you come! I really like the poem you shared. It gives one a lot to think about.

Hooray for good, easy visits to the dentist! I used to use a water pick when they first came out. My parents had one in their home. I didn't realize that they are still made. Maybe I will look into getting one. Thanks for the tip! Have a great Friday!

Great photo Karen! It is very dark in the mornings so when Chuck goes back to work next week we will start walking after he gets home from work. That takes getting use to!
Glad your trip to the dentist went well. We had a very rainy morning yesterday too but by noon it was sunny and warm again.
Have a good weekend.

I'm glad your dentist visit was good. It pays to be diligent with that. I wasn't and now I'm paying for it. Your Mexican dinner followed by cheesecake sound just what I'd like!

Thanks for having us over last night at your house. We truly enjoyed playing Mexican Train and dinner was super delicious! I couldn't find your new chili recipe on your blog. Would you please post it again. Thanks and have a wonderful day!!

Maybe those chocolate chip cookies are the reason they get you in and out in 20 minutes. They give you the royal treatment for sure. I never even considered giving my dentist a little gift for appreciation, but I think you really have inspired me. Anything to speed up my time in the chair is definitely worth it for me.
