These cows live across the road from us at Happy Trails.
The mother was licking her baby clean like a cat.
He just stood there while mom gave him a bath.

When I left this morning on my walk it had stopped raining and things were drying out.
I walked one of my town routes.
Walking by the cemetery I saw a rabbit and also so something cross the
street a few yards ahead of me, a skunk.
It was too dark to take a picture and maybe that was a good thing.
I sure wouldn't want to startle him.
Here the sun is coming over a bank of clouds and we eventually had a sunny day.
At the small cemetery on the side road, I walked among the graves.
This newborn baby girl wasn't here very long.
So sad to see the graves of babies.
Walked 6.2 miles
Temperature was 50 degrees F.
10 degrees C.
The month of September was not so good finding coins.
28 cents
A quarter and three pennies.

We spent the day up at Happy Trails.
The lane that runs along our property up to the driveway,
gets pretty over grown on the sides with hanging trees and brush.
So today we spent the day cutting down trees and clearing up the brush.
We got about a quarter of it done.
Before coming home we walked around HT for a little while on a couple of the trails.
Then we sat out on the deck of the cabin for a little while
and watched the clouds race across the sky.
We stayed there till supper time and then came home.
How blessed we are to have Happy Trails.
A happy day to you.

Your walk sounds divine. I enjoy walking through cemeteries.
That cow on the right is looking straight at you!
Another lovely scene from HT.
All the best Jan
Glad you're getting to enjoy your special retreat!
I like walking much better than hiking up steep trails. - Margy
It's also odd to see the years of them be so far back. They'd most likely be dead by now if they had survived infancy. Infants used to have a terrible living record back before modern medicine.
Hello, I love the sweet cows. The baby cow is being well cared for by mom. Pretty shot of the sky and trail. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
Great photos of the cows. We have been having a couple cloudy days too. We still need much more rain as the creeks and rivers are very low. Wonderful quote as always.
Happy Trails sounds like such a serene spot! It is so sad to see grave markers like that. Such a short life for this little one. Love the cows. Have a blessed day.
You live in a beautiful area. Congratulations on 6.2 miles... that's quite a distance!
You really take advantage of a beautiful place to live by getting out and enjoying it. Love the quote too!
So sad about baby's graves...
I love your blog and you!
I love that you call it Happy Trails!
Take a gander at my window boxes I built today....so in love with them!
The cow on the right has great face markings!
