Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

Glad for my morning walk

This picture of the town pond is from Monday during my morning walk.

Back to a normal morning of walking.  Unseasonable warm at 64 degrees.
Felt like rain and sure enough after walking about a mile it started drizzling
so I headed back home and got my umbrella.

Walked all around town including both cemeteries and the ball park loop.  There were a few periods with no rain so my umbrella went up and down a few times.

Pretty quite around town but I did see Kathy out walking with her umbrella too.  I told her it was nice to see another walker who is not afraid of a little rain.  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Walked down by the horses near the Drane house but
they were too busy munching on grass to come over and see me.
I think they realize now that I don't bring them food so don't bother coming over.

I don't like to miss my morning walk and was very glad
to get back to it this morning.
Walked 6.4 miles

The rain stopped and the sun came out.
I got some more dead flowers cut back out in the back yard this time.
Still have more to do.  Seems no end to it, but the more I get done now is
less I have to do in the spring.

Finished going through all the drawers in my dresser and got things
all neat and tidy and threw away a lot of old clothes.
I keep saving old clothes for work clothes and I have so many work
clothes that it is ridiculous so I threw most of them away.

That will about do it for today.
 A happy day to you.

  1. I think it is pleasant to walk in the rain, as long as I'm not getting drenched. The sunrise photo reflecting the pink in the pond is beautiful! Have a great evening.

  2. What a lovely photo to start your post. The reflections and colours in it are gorgeous.

    All the best Jan

  3. I do the same thing--save my old clothes for work clothes. But then when they tear sometimes I don't know when to get rid of them...I keep wearing them, and duct taping them, and wearing them again. It's about time I recycled some of them into rags!

Your first photo is breathtaking. What a beautiful place! We went on a run this morning at a place I'd never run before--the path we'll be taking in this weekend's 5K race. There were plenty of leaves on the trail.

  4. Your photo of the town pond is gorgeous. I love the reflections.

  5. I love that first picture.Stunning reflections.

  6. You are also a very good photographer.:)

I like reading here, you are making an ordinary day and routine extraordinary, nowadays, it's very important for so many people seem to feel bored and discontent. You inspire to live life each day to its fullest. Thanks happyone!

  7. As above, love that town pond picture Karen. Looks like you've some nice autumn tints too..

  8. What a perfect moment to photograph the pond and the reflection in the early morning light!

  9. The first photo is fantastic !!!

  10. Hello, the town pond and reflection is beautiful. Hubby and I are in a routine for walking now too, it feels good. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

  11. Lovely photos Karen. I too hate to miss my daily walk. I feel all out of sorts! We are supposed to have rain and cooler weather over the next few days. I think our extended summer has come to an end. Always feels great to have a good clean out leaving everything neat and tidy.

  12. What a pretty picture... love that little pond.

We're getting everything ready for winter around here, too. I'll clean up a few more plants today, then the outside will be done.

I love my walks too. Sure starts the day off in a positive way :)

    Have a great day.

  13. That reflection on the water is perfect

  14. That reflection is stupendous. We are enjoying Indian summer, too. In fact, I couldn't talk myself into going back to The Ponderosa as it is too warm for tugging and shoving.

  15. That's very true about "work clothes"! We don't need that many! I think I have too many cardigans.

Hello my friend.

I'm hoping you will leave a comment.
