Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Saturday's Critters

Captured this hummingbird on a sunflower in my back yard.
I've linked up with Eileen for Saturday's Critters.
Why not post one too?

When I walked this morning it was 58 degrees and stayed cloudy once the sun rose.
Walked around town and the two cemeteries.
Got a shot of the moon this morning.
Then I walked out the other side of town and walked around the industrial park.
No one there with it being a Saturday.
Didn't see anyone else out.
Walked 6 miles
Found a penny

We drove over to Uniontown, Pa for the day.
I bought new garden clippers.  My old ones were green and I think I lost them in the yard somewhere.  The new ones I'm going to put PINK duct tape around the handles.  Should be easy to see.  I'll probably find the old ones now.

We also got some flooring for the entrance way into the cabin.
It is tile that look like boards.  We are going to see how it looks.  If we like it may do the whole floor that way.
The man at Home Depot was very helpful telling us about how to install it and what materials we needed.

Home this evening doing some reading, making weave-its, a little Netflix watching
and of course eating some ice cream.

A happy day to you.

Comment replies:
Christine - Ice cream flavor I had last night was Chippity Chocolaty.  Vanilla ice cream with flakes of chocolate.

RC - That is the saying I say every time I find a coin.  I just change penny to whatever coin I find.

Eileen - Yes, there will be cushions on the seats - nice comfortable ones.

  6. I love reading your blog. I love reading about where you go. You are so close to many of the places we used to,go...daughter went to WVU in Morgantown; we vacationed at Deep Creek and many more places you mention.
But, we've lived in our house for 45 years; both of our daughters are in Howard a County; I like that I can walk to Food Lion. I'm just a spoiled brat and would not want to leave all th things I consider to be convinces.
Keep writing; it's such fun going down memory lane

  7. Great shots of the hummingbird! You know it's Murphy's Law that you will find your old clippers as soon as you step out into your yard! Oh well, it doesn't hurt to have two pairs.
Looking forward to seeing what your new flooring at HT looks like.

  8. Breathtaking shots of the sunflowers and the humming bird. I think the wood looking tile would look nice in the cabin - a bit of a rustic look and easy to keep up too. Good idea with the pink duct tape. I can see how green would sort of disappear outside. Have a good day.
