Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Saturday's Critters and an easy delicious dessert

A rabbit I saw on a morning walk.
Linking up with Eileen today for her Saturday's Critters.

58 degrees this morning and sunny.
After yesterday and the goats I decided not to walk the Farm Loop
but stayed around town today.

Started out walking the roads behind my house, then through town,
down toward HT and then back to town and around the ball park loop.

A couple of yard sale getting set up but I didn't even stop to look.
Don't need anything and didn't want to spot anything that I THOUGHT I  needed.
I think maybe something might be happening with the empty bakery shop
in town.  🍩  🍞 It's been cleaned up a bit.  Windows washed and I peeked inside the window and display cases were set up and a light was on in the back.
No one else out walking this early Saturday morning.
As always I enjoyed my morning walk.
Walked 6.2 miles

Another day for Ken up at Happy Trails but I stayed home and did some things around the house.  One was to make a delicious dessert in the slow cooker.  I use my slow cooker often but have never before made a dessert with it.
My friend Bettye makes this often and gave me the recipe.
This is so easy that it is not much of a recipe.
All you need is
A slow cooker
2 cans pie filling
1 box cake mix
1 stick melted butter
Put the pie filling in cooker
Add cake mix
Pour melted butter over top
Cook on high 3 to 4 hours
Low for 5 to 6 hours

Serve warm or cooled and what a treat with ice cream.

You can add any type pie filling and cake mix.
I picked cherry pie filling and chocolate cake for this one.
Next time I'm going to try apple pie filling with  yellow cake.
The choices are many.

With these warmer than usual temperatures the garden has continued to produce.
I didn't think we would get any tomatoes at all this year but now we are getting some.
They are small but still good.
The bell peppers have finally started producing too
as well as the eggplant.
Here's what I harvested out of the garden this morning.
Love the colors.

A happy day to you.

Hello!:) Lovely capture of the cute and bright eyed bunny. All that garden produce looks so tempting, and so does your dessert. Those slow cookers are fantastic.

Wonderful rabbit photo. That is one animal I have not seen here in our new neighbourhood. Maybe it has something to do with the coyotes!
Your dessert sounds delicious. I must try it.
Your veggies look lovely. Next year we hope to plant a veggie garden too.

I like your reason for passing up the yard sale! :-)

I'm very intrigued with the crock pot dessert. Just dump in the cake mix and not mix it with the pie filling? I think I'd really like the yellow cake and apple pie filling.

Sounds like you might have a new shop happening in the old bakery. I love it when someone takes on a old empty shop and brings it back to life.

The produce from your garden looks beautiful in that bowl. Never tried cooking with a slow cooker. Delicious looking pudding though! Often been tempted but it's finding some space to store it.
The little bunny is so cute. It didn't seem to mind being photographed at all.
Have a wonderful new week Karen :)
