Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Good Fences and Happy Fall

This is the lane that leads to our driveway up at Happy Trails.
Happy Trails is all along the right side of the lane.
Linking up with Good Fences.

This morning the temperature was 55 degrees and eventually sunny.

Walked one of my routes partly in town, around both cemeteries, behind my house,
down toward Happy Trails and up Sale Barn Rd.  Haven't come up with a route name for it.  Maybe the All Around Route.

Another very quiet walk and didn't see any people.  Haven't seen Kathy for a week now.  Hope all is well with her.  She is pretty faithful in her walking.  Maybe she is enjoy a holiday somewhere.

Saw a few rabbits and all those birds are still hanging around by the town pond putting on a concert for me every morning.  🐦

Walked 6.3 miles

Happy Fall
 🍁     🍁     🍁     🍁
It was Fingerprint Ministry at church today we we left right after breakfast.
12 of us were there today and we planned to work until 2:00
but we ran out of covers so we were done by lunchtime.
Had lunch there at the church.

Did our food shopping at Walmart before coming home.

I noticed the birds, chipmunks and squirrels had eaten up all the seed out back
so went and filled the bird feeders.

With all the cone flowers dying now as well as all the sunflowers all over
the yard the gold finches are having a great feast in our yard.
We sit at the table eating supper by the window and watch the birds come and eat
cone flower seeds right beside us on the other side of the window.
Then they fly around back and take a drink and bath in the water feature.
Really enjoy watching them.

 A happy day to you.

Vee - No, no one has been rude to me lately.  Just have come across some good manner quotes.  I guess we can all use a little reminder once in a while.  I'm moving on to other subjects now.

  3. I enjoy watching birds come to the feeder. I'm having to find another spot for my feeder and I'm afraid it's going to have to be farther away from the window. Beautiful photos!

  8. The lane to HT looks so pretty.
We enjoy watching the birds too. We just added another hummingbird feeder and put it right outside the kitchen window. It has been so fun to see them up close while we are eating.

  9. LOL! Glad to know that no one has been rude. I'll take it as confirmation that I needed to read it.

  10. I went to Target for the first time in a least about two to three months yesterday. So much more quiet than Walmart, I had almost forgotten about it. They just put in a new U-Scan system so there ain't no lines anymore even though theirs were small in comparison to Wally World.

  11. Sounds like a wonderful daily walk - a very pretty lane! So nice to watch the birds - they always make me smile :) Wal-Mart stresses me out - too many people and too far to walk! I'm always forgetting things and having to back-track. Not fun when the store is huge! Hope you are enjoying this first week of fall! x Karen
