Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Barn Collective

Quilt Barn Number 3
This barn was built in 1951 and is owned now by Frank France.
At the time it was the George Browning Farm.
The property was also the DeWitt Farm at one time.

It is said that the site at one time was the home of a Native American camp
 near the Youghiogheny  River
and this quilt bock design was to commemorate this.
I'm linking up with Tom for the Barn Collective.

Woke up to the sound of rain.
It was 62 degrees and too warm to wear my raincoat but did take along my umbrella this morning on my walk.  I got to hear one of my sounds - rain on my umbrella.
It only rained for about a mile and then it was just cloudy.

Walked the hill behind my house and then through to the other side of town.
A couple of men have started work on taking down an ad on the billboard.
Maybe tomorrow I'll get to look at a new one.
Walked around both cemeteries and the ball park loop too.
Didn't see anyone else out walking this morning.

Walked 6.2 miles

The dining dining room got a good cleaning today.  I usually start with the bathroom and bedroom down the other side of the house.  Then by the time I get to the dining room my cleaning mood as faded somewhat and the dining room gets a quick cleaning.
Today I even washed the dining room windows.

Sat on the front porch for a little while
Read
Made a few weave-it squares
And in a little while we are going to Brenda's for pizza.
I think maybe since it is after Labor Day the pizza may be back to being half price on Mondays.  Anyway we're going to get some even if it is not half price.  😊

A happy day to you.

What a great barn and the quilt block is the frosty on the cake. I would guess that the block is a one of a kind. Thanks so much for stopping by The Barn Collective, I hope to see you again soon .

I just learned about the barn quilts. How great to see one in real life, so to speak.

Another wonderful quilt barn & very unique to the area!
You've made me feel guilty about cleaning my dining room as I usually do the quick sweep & dust around too! Tomorrow I'll do better!

Quite an intermesting design for that quilt. Nice to see you're finding barn quilts too. Apparently there are more planned around here in the future.

I love all the red barns. Why are they red? Is it the favorite color in your country? Also nice to read about the quilt and native Americans. Have a nice day!

Another colourful barn and quilt.
I used to be superwoman and clean the whole house in one day but now I have to pace myself.
Have a great week :)

Yum! Pizza! How nice that you were able to listen to rain on your umbrella for a bit.
The barn is wonderful. It's so small town-ish in your area and I love that. Bill and I both miss small town life.

The red barn looks pretty. At first look, i would think that the photo is a painting..a beautiful painting..but it's actually real!

I like the quote, as usual :) Enjoy the pizza!

Good quote about rudeness--so true! Neat to see the barn quilt. We have a lot of barn quilts here in Grundy County, but I don't think I've ever seen one like this one. Also very neat that the barn has a garage! A lot of barns have become obsolete since they don't have the doors to house modern transportation and farm machinery, but looks like this one is still put to good use.

Love that you walk rain or shine. We've ran in the rain a few times, but sometimes it rains hard enough for us not to take on the challenge.

Awesome that you got the dining room windows washed. Washing windows is not one of my favorite things to do, but I finally got my room windows washed this month. I decided I had better do it before it gets too cold to do them!
