Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Weeds are flowers too : )

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

68 degrees this morning when I walked and it was mostly cloudy with a bit of a breeze.  A nice morning for walking.

No special route today.  I dropped off a couple of books at the library and a letter at the library and then just walked all over town.  Walked  about half way to HT before turning around and walking back to town.

The roofers finished shingling another house and have started yet another one.  They certainly have a lot of business in town this year.

I didn't see Kathy walking today but I saw her driving to town for her walk and she waved to me.

Saw the usual birds and rabbits.
Walked 6 miles.
Sunrise 6:20
Sunset 8:26

Ken went up to HT to finished putting the insulation in the cabin.
Still no word on the slab wood.
I stayed home.
Did some baking in the morning to use up some more zucchini.  I'm going to have to start giving some away.

When the zucchini bread came out of the oven I went outside.
Mowed the lawn.
Put the rest of the plastic down around the heat pump.  Then put rocks on to hold it in  place.  Just some more stone in that area and then that will be done.  There are some buckets of stone here already but they are very heavy and Ken made me promise that I wouldn't try to lift them on my own.
Did some more of the never ending weeding and deadheading.
Stayed nice and cool today in the 70's.  It was delightful. : )

We haven't made homemade pizza for a while so decided to have that for supper today.  So I came inside at 3:30 to make the dough.
Then it was time to sit down and read while I waited for Ken to get back from HT.

Oh yes and the pizza was delicious that Ken made. : )

After supper Ken dumped the stones around the heat pump for me.
I like it a lot better.  Next year I'll put some big pots of flowers on the stone.
That was the last of the stone.  One day soon I'll be heading back to HT to crush some more.

As I type this I'm still waiting to hear how Chris's surgery went.  Will keep you posted.
Hope your day was a happy one.
happyone : )

Yes, weeds are flowers, too, 'cause God created them...you're so right! I love the "queen Anne's lace", and whatever those little blue/purple ones are....and the purple clover! The rock is looking so good and it's FREE, well except for the labor! As always, love your pretty pics! HOPE you hear good news about the surgery....and have a great weekend.

The prettiest flowers I have in my yard are some wild purple lilies that grow in the back yard. I hate to have the lawn mowed because then they're gone. But they come back. The stone around the heat pump looks nice. Neat and clean. Pots of flowers will look pretty on it. Have a great day.

The crushed stone looks good. I like the wildflowers. Good thing you are retired with all of the yard work and weeding!

I really love the picture of the wildflowers. Wildflowers are beautiful! You always have the best pictures. I've just looked back at those I've missed lately. Don't know why I stay behind all the time now. Maybe because my husband is home more! ?

I love those little blue ones too. I knew what they were at one time, but I've forgotten.
Since the rocks are free, I'm thinking up all sorts of places to put them.
It is work but we are retired and it keeps us busy!! : )

That is one reason why I decided to have a tiny meadow in my yard. I love to see the what wild flowers pop up in it. : )
I agree that the rocks make it neat and clean, and one less place to weed!!

Thanks, there seems to be a lot more Queen Anne's Lace around here this year.

Wildflowers are a better name than weeds! : )
Thank you.
It is different when husbands retire and it takes time to get into a new schedule. It is great having them around though isn't it?

I like all flowers from garden plants, to wild flowers and yes, even weeds can be pretty.

All the best Jan

Chris is not my son but my step-brother. Still waiting to hear how he is. I've called his wife but haven't had a call back yet.
Weeds can indeed be pretty. : )

I agree, weeds are just wildflowers. You seem to be doing a lot of heavy work these days, and the results are looking good.
