Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Up at Happy Trails

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
It was a bit warm walking this morning.  70 degrees and mostly sunny.
I walked the Farm Loop.
Not much activity at the dairy farm though I did hear a rooster crowing.
I walked between fields of corn on both sides of the road.
Never know when a deer will come bounding out from one side and into the other.
It's happened a few times.
Farmer Bill was walking in his field looking at his crop of beans and gave me a wave as I walked by.

Once back to town I made a loop around town and one around the ball park loop.
A couple I haven't seen before were walking around there too.

Walked 6.2 miles.
Sunrise 6:25
Sunset 8:19

After breakfast Ken went up to Happy Trails again and this time I went along with him.
Since I hadn't been there this week I got to see the work Ken did on his own.
He finished all the insulation and the raised part where the bed will be.
He also got a couple lights installed and moved the blue water barrels that were in front to the back of the cabin.

Today we planned out our mini sized kitchen and Ken put up some very thin plywood on the kitchen wall. Didn't take pictures, but will when things are a bit farther along.

After lunch we collected more rocks for the stone crusher.

While Ken cut down a couple trees I sat on the cabin deck and did a little reading.
Don't have much of a view in summer because of all the trees but when the leaves come down we can see into town.
My book club meets tonight but I decided not to go.
I didn't really like the book all that much so I just thought I'd skip it this one time.

Time for supper in a little while and then off to church.
Then there is that bowl of ice cream to look forward to when we get home.

Hope your day was a happy one.

I'm getting very intrigued by Happy Trails. It sounds like it's coming together. What a lovely place for a retreat. I saw a video about tiny houses - built on trailer beds with wheels. They have a loft to sleep in and a tiny kitchen. Cute but I don't think I could make my home there permanently. Have a great day.

I watched those little birds for quite a while. : )
The cabin is just 3 miles from our house and it will be nice to maybe go there and spend a couple of days. I think it would be really nice to be there during a snow storm. Mostly we'll just go there during the day and have some place to get out of the weather.

I'm with you. Cute and tiny is very nice but not for always. That's why it is so much fun building a little cabin in the woods. A nice retreat. : )

I do like your first photo again ...

Sometimes, it is just nice to take time out at home and read a favourite book!

All the best Jan
