Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Retired another pair

Soy beans and corn in the distance

 ✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

58 degrees this morning with a mix of sun and clouds.  Yesterday it was a cool 52.
Long sleeve walking weather.  My favorite walking temp is in the 40's.

Walked the Farm Loop.  The goats were around again.  This time over by the barn pulling down a huge weed that looked more like a little tree.  Nice to see the cows in the front field.  One of the barn cats was sitting on the fence watching the cows but jumped down and ran away when it saw me.

Sky was interesting looking this morning.
When I got back to town I walked to my house and made a pit stop and then continued the rest of my walk around town.

I saw both Joyce and her husband George drive past me in different cars.
Joyce waved and George stopped to tell me they were going to NJ to visit the grandkids.

Saw the man walking the two dogs that always bark at me and a new woman who I haven't seen before.  We said hi and she remarked how nice the weather was for walking.  Maybe she will be another morning regular.

It was time to retire another pair of walking shoes
so today I walked in a pair of new ones.
First time for me walking in a pair of D'Lites Sketchers.
My feet felt good walking in them but the insides of them don't have a lot of cushion like my old ones so I think I'm going to get some inserts.
I walked 6.5 miles.
Found a penny.

As Ken was leaving to go up to Happy Trails this morning I went out on the porch to wave goodbye to him.
As I opened the door a yellow jacket flew at me and stung me on my knuckle.
With a yell I quickly brushed it off me and stepped back inside the house.
Ken came back to see what the matter was.
I'm NOT allergic but it did sting quite a bit for about 5 minutes and my knuckle was swollen. I told Ken I was fine and to go to HT which he did.
An hour later my finger was back to normal.

I spent the day at home cleaning and  I'm happy to say I got a lot done!!
Remember Jodie?
Well she finally had her baby. : )
Both her and her new baby daughter are doing fine.
This is number 7 for Jodie,  her oldest is 12 years old.
She really needs our prayers now!!  : )

We went to Little Caesar's for pizza for supper and ate it in the car.
We ate half and brought the other half home for another day.
You don't see this pull into a gas station very often.

Hope your day was a happy one.

Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer weiner... Sorry I couldn't resist. How fun to see the Weinermobile at the gas station.
Your new shoes are cute. Love the blue laces.
We finally god rid of the yellow jacket nest off of our patio. Brett was stung 3 times and I once. That was the most painful sting I have ever had.
Congratulations to Jodie. She will be one busy mama.

I forgot to tell you how much I like your header photo. I'm not sure if you recently changed it or I am just noticing it, but WOW it is beautiful and evokes such a peaceful feeling.

I love the cloud picture. That is beautiful.

Yes, it did sting but not as bad as I thought it would.
We got rid of one nest and another one is started behind the shutter on the porch. Ken is going out now to deal with it. I'll watch from the window.
Header picture has been there quite a while. : ) I've been thinking of changing it again.

As much as you walk, no wonder you needed a new pair of shoes! :) Good for you girl. Crazy about the yellow jacket. I had one fly into my car one day while driving and sting me. It was a few years ago, but quite a shock. You have really cooled down. We still are hot here. Beautiful photos!
hugs,
Jann

Gorgeous photos Karen. In your area you grow the same crops we do, corn and soybeans.
So glad everything went well with Jodie. Wow, seven kids, she is a busy lady!
We had a weinermobile here a couple years ago. They are a sight! Take care.

A Weiner Mobile! How funny. I didn't know they were still around. So sorry about your yellow jacket sting. I've been stung by bees before and no bad reaction. Trouble is, you don't always know if you're allergic until you get stung. Your new shoes are great. What walking shoes do you recommend? Glad to hear the goats are back. I was concerned. :) Have a great day.

Love that quote at the bottom....it goes along just fine with what God inspired me to write today. Take it one day at a time and have a good attitude!!! I like your new shoes. How many pairs have you retired, or have you kept count? And, as always, great pictures!!!

Those yellow jackets are mean bees! I go though a pair of shoes in about 4 months.

I wonder how many there are. I'll have to check it out.

I'm thinking about putting in pink laces. : ) The pizza was good. It's my favorite pizza so I've never found a pizza I didn't like. : )

Most of the corn around here are for the animals but a few farmers grow the sweet corn as well.
I don't think I could deal with 7 kids for even one day!! : )

Thanks. That is the best pizza ever!!
Have a great day.

My last 4 pair of shoes were Under Armour and I loved them. They had lots of support and were cushioned inside too. I just couldn't find them around here. These sketchers are good ones. I've also worn New Balance. The shoes change so much you really just have to try them on. I walk around in the store with on. I usually get running shoes.

I have no idea but there are a lot of them!! : ) I've been taking morning walks since 1988.

At least I wasn't allergic to the sting!!
The pizza was VERY GOOD.

Nice shoes.... I've never heard of that brand. We are thinking about getting a couple more pairs since it's been a year. We alternate ours--one one day and the other the next, etc. We'll probably get the same kind, Asics, since they did well for both of us this past year.

That pizza made my mouth water. Guess it's time for some lunch... ha

Hugs,
Betsy

I go through a pair of shoes in about 4 months.
I've had all different kinds. I started out years ago with New Balance. I've had Asics too.
The pizza was soooo good. It's my favorite kind.

Shoes look great...I like my casual skechers. Don't see the wiener mobile every day, every year or ever. (Never have seen it.)

Rotten yellow jacket!

It looks huge in person!

It was fun to see it. I like my old Under Armour shoes better. Still have to get some inserts for these sketchers.

A young person was driving it and lots of people walked up and took pictures. I just took my pictures from the car. Sketchers are good but I'd like a bit more cushioning inside.
