Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A new high score

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
It was sunny and the temperature was up to 70 degrees this morning but it felt cooler.  There was a nice steady cool breeze so it was actually quite nice.

Went to the post office first and threw some mail down the slot.
Then continued my walk around the Farm Loop.
Quiet out by the dairy farm.  Just saw a couple barn cats.

There were a couple of deer by the edge of a corn field.

I'm standing by Farmer Georg's farm taking this picture and the red barn you see in the distance is on the main road back in town which is where I'm heading.  This is about the half way point around the Farm Loop.
Once back to town I made a loop around town and then back home.
Saw Kathy walking again and Lee stopped on his bike to say Hi,
and once again he gave me a couple of those mints.
Mike was walking too.  Don't see him when I'm out very often
because he usually walks later in the day.

 Walked 6 miles.
For a while I tried to walk 5 miles a day but slowly
it has gotten back to 6 or so.
Sunrise 6:31
Sunset 8:11

Neither one of us went up to Happy Trails today.  It was bowling day.
There were nine of us there today.
I had one bad game and two good games,
but Ken had a fantastic game!!
He surpassed his previous high game of 215 and bowled a
237.

After bowling we went food shopping at Walmart.

I made potato salad this morning and for supper we ate that with grilled hamburgers for supper on the picnic table out back on the patio.
The weather is delightful.
Sunny with a cool breeze.

Hope your day day a happy one.

I love too see these lovely country scenes...love the hay bales. You inspire me to walk...you must be a tiny little thing with all that walking you do!

Sounds like you had a great day. Loving the hay bales much better than the rectangular ones.

Congratulations to Ken on his new high score!
I love the sounds of cool breezes in the morning and supper on the picnic table. I am looking forward to the cool breezes finding us here in the sweltering south :).

Great score for Ken!! I hope our temps cool down soon so that I can do some grilling outside. Right now, no way. Have a great day.

Bowling is really fun. I'd forgotten until we took our grandkids bowling while visiting them last week. The alley had bumpers that went up when the two little ones bowled (3 and 6) so they actually outscored me and two other adults in the bunch. I admire that your area has leagues and will be looking for that in our future community when we move further east.

I am very thankful that I get to walk around here.
I don't know about being a 'tiny little thing' but when I go to the doctor they don't tell me to lose weight. : )

Oh me too, love the rolled hay.

We don't bowl on a league. Just a bunch of us get together each week, just for fun.
But there are leagues at the bowling alley just not when we bowl. Yes, it is a lot of fun.

Yes, I'm lucky to be able to walk here, but I've walked wherever I've lived. The need to walk out weighs the place to walk in. : )

Thank you Jan.
It was so much fun watching Ken get that score. He had 7 strikes in that game and only 1 open frame. Skill and a lot of luck was with him!! : )
I think the quote is a good one too. So true.
