A nice cool morning for walking today. 62 degrees, cloudy and breezy.
And look what I happened to spot along the way.
A leaf turning yellow already.
I'm not quite ready for that yet.
I walked the Farm Loop. Didn't see the goats today. Wonder where they got off to this morning!!
Cows were out in the front pasture by the dairy farm and the chickens were running around in the yard and a few barn cats as well. The cats are very skittish and run away when I get near.
When I got back to town I walked around one of the cemeteries and a loop around town before heading back home.
I noticed someone got a new clothes line. It's a nice one isn't it!?
I've just walked around the cemetery here and heading back to the main road.
If you look closely you can see someone walking way up ahead.
It's Kathy. : )
Walked 6.3 miles.

Sunset 8:25

Ken went to meet Edd for breakfast and then they went off to the Sale/Auction.
I puttered around the house and the yard. Did a little more weeding.
I was sitting on the swing taking a break when Ken pulled in the driveway.
Ken put stones around the umbrella out by the stone patio this afternoon.
We didn't like the look of the umbrella but now with the stones around it we do. I took before and after pictures.
It was too low and we just didn't like it.
Ken built it up with stones to make the umbrella level with the patio.
Then put stones all around.
A rain shower halted work for a little while but the work was completed.
We don't have any tomatoes yet from our garden but I'm still hopeful.
Anyway in the mean time we bought some nice ones
and made BLT's for supper. Had some cucumber salad too.
I think I've about add enough cucumber salad for the rest of the year now. : )
Last night we watched an old movie on Netflix.

Last night we watched an old movie on Netflix.
Journey to the Center of the Earth.
1959 staring James Mason and Pat Boone.
It was really corny but we had fun watching it. : )
And we didn't doze off.
I still have not heard how my step-brothers surgery went.
I've called but haven't heard back from anyone.
I guess no news is good news.
That's about it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.
happyone : )
What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now.

We finally woke up to a nice cool morning this morning Karen. A wonderful walk today! You are so lovely and green compared to us. I love what you did around your umbrella. Looks very nice. We are enjoying tomatoes from our neighbours garden but they are small.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I like the look of the umbrella and the stones around it. Sort of sets it off. I really enjoy watching old movies. I hope the goats are okay. Probably found someone else's porch to visit. Have a great weekend.
That is a very unusual washing line.
I like the stones around your umbrella. Fits in with your patio better.
Have a great weekend Happyone :)
Glad to hear you finally got a nice cool morning for walking. : )
I can't believe how many rocks it took to do that!!
Thanks. Sure is nice to have an unlimited supply of rocks!!
Yes, I thought it very unusual too. Probably over built but it looks nice.
Thank you. It took a lot of rocks!!
Hello, I like the wildflowers by the road and your umbrella looks nice. I like your new patio and stone work. The clothes line does look nice. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
I love that quote at the bottom of your post. I'm going to copy it and put it somewhere as a wonderful reminder. Visiting your blog is always so refreshing, your morning walks are beautiful. We walk at about the same pace, but I only walk 3 miles each morning (well 4 to 6 mornings a week). I've never taken a camera with me. There is one point on our walk that has a hill, we go down it in the beginning and then up it to get home . . . Mondays after a day or two of not walking and that hill seems higher and longer than the rest of the week, LOL. I agree that your umbrella looks prettier now, but I love rocks. I picked one up on a kayaking trip that has a hole in it about three inches deep, I have been going to plant a succulent in it. Maybe I'll get that done today. We are finally putting in drip lines around my flower beds today. I have been wanting to do this since Spring. Have a lovely weekend and thank you for sharing your lovely walk with us.
Connie :)
Thank you, enjoy your weekend too. : )
Glad you liked the quote.
Since I've taken my camera along with my on my walks I see so much more. You should try it.
As you can tell we too love rocks and it is nice to have an unlimited supply of them!!
I almost thought you were walking along a road in N. Ireland when i saw your first photo! It reminds me of roads near me!
What a very well made clothes line!
I really like the stone work around the parasol now, great finish!
Have a wonderful weekend!
That looks much better than the one I remember my parents had when I was little. It was metal and eventually came down. You can still find the holes in the ground if you look hard enough.
I love the wildflowers in the field and the rest of your pictures are also so very pretty. The black borders set them off.
Funny how different parts of the world can look so much the same. : ) So many beautiful places!!
I think I like that clothes line better than mine. : )
I'm sure it still kept you shade on those hot days. : )
Thank you. : )
I really like the stone work you've done around the parasol, it looks great!
The wildflowers look so pretty in your first photo, and what a thoughtful and lovely quote you've used to finish the post.
Happy weekend wishes
All the best Jan
It sure took a lot of rocks but when you have an unlimited supply of rocks you can do that. : )
Glad you like the quote.
