Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Rainbow

Last night while we were all eating supper
outside on their deck before we began playing Mexican Train
this rainbow appeared in the sky.

Didn't get up until 6:45 this morning.  Slept in a bit because we got home late last night.  Had a fun time playing Mexican Train and being with our friends.  : )

This morning it was 65 degrees and cloudy when I headed out for my walk at 7:00.

Walked around the industrial park and then up the road in the picture.  It ends in a dead end so turned around and walked back again.

Made a loop around town and one of the cemeteries and the ball park loop.

There were a lot of people riding bicycles through town because some a bike riding event was taking place.

Saw Lee riding his bike and he stopped to say hi.  He always gives me a couple of those round red and white peppermint candies that melt in your mouth when he sees me.  I've never seen him without them.

George who I see once in town stopped for a little chat too.  He showed me picture of his grandkids.

The usual bunnies were around again by the cemetery and a few were by the ball park too.

Walked 6.3 miles.
Found another dime.  This is the month for dimes!!

This morning I got busy baking some chocolate chip cookies.  Ken had a train club from Cumberland stop by to see his train layout this afternoon.  One of the members is Bob, who is a neighbor who lives behind us.  Everyone time visitors come to see the trains there are cookies for them.  Some people come just for the cookies. : )  Just kidding.  They stayed 2 1/2 hours.
If you would like to see pictures of Ken's layout there is a link to it, Ken's Trains, at the bottom of the page after the posts.

I got the lawn mowed this morning.  Three of my neighbors were mowing their lawns at the same time too.

Another sunny afternoon in the 70's and I continued with my weeding. Then sat on the porch and read for a while.

A happy day to you.

I know the trains are amazing, but I think the cookies also sweeten the deal. Your visitors are lucky to be treated to such warm hospitality.
I'd be thrilled to find dimes. It's been pennies around here lately.
The rainbow is so pretty.

Did you all get any of the flooding which hit West VA? Hope not... We are quite dry here in TN... Crazy how some people get too much rain and some don't get enough.. Oh Well.

Hugs,
