Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Christians

When polls are taken they still indicate
that most people in the world say they are Christians.
But in this group of people there are three different kinds.

The first group is the largest and they are
Man-Made Christians.
Most have been born into a Christian home.
They may go to church or
have been baptized
and they are told
You are a Christian.

The second group are
Self-Made Christians.
They are honest, moral, work hard,
do charitable works,
and are good citizens.
They think they are good enough
and do enough good works to
earn their way into heaven.

The smallest group of Christians are
God-Made Christians.
This group comes to God
knowing they are sinners
and can't do enough good works or be good enough
to get to heaven on their own.
They believe that God loved them so much that
He sent His Son Jesus
to die on the cross to pay for their sins
and rose again with the power to forgive their sins.
They have put their trust in Jesus
and God saved them from hell and made
each of them His child.
They now have a home in heaven when they die.

Ephesians 2: 8 and 9
For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and not of yourselves: It is the gift of God.
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world
that He gave is only begotten son
that whosoever believeth in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life.

I am a God-Made Christian. : )
A blessed Sunday to you all.
Jesus loves you.

This is a very brave post . . . bravo. It is not in the sitting in church or the doing of good deeds, it is all about the blood, the love and the forgiveness of our Lord. It's all about what He has done and nothing to do with anything that we can do, other than believe and give ourselves to Him. We can not make it on our own, but hallelujah! We don't have too :)

This is right on! Ive always tried to explain that there is a difference in being Christian and being A Christian. You just summed it up perfect. I may share this.

Wonderful post! I too am a God-made Christian. These days, when someone says they are a Christian, I think the same thing. Sometimes, to people, being a Christian means that they are not Moslem or Buddhist or Hindu.

You are brave to post about the different "types" of Christians. In accepting Jesus as our personal Savior we invite His Holy Spirit to dwell in us. Then He is with us all of the time. It's this relationship with Jesus Christ that defines a true Christian. He wants us to become like Him and he directs us step by step.
