Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A couple of oldies

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
I've been leaving the house right at 6:30 the last few days.  That is the time I aim for.  This morning it was 50 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds.

Walked straight through town and walked up Sale Barn Rd.  It is quite a hill to walk up but a nice view when you get to the top and it is so quiet and peaceful.  Nice on the way down the hill. : )
The cows no longer are in the field and Farmer Marvin as let the field go this year.  I guess he is giving the land a rest this year.

When I got back to the main road I walked toward Happy Trails and then turned around before I got to the turn off and walked back to town.  There I walked around both cemeteries and the ball park loop.

I counted 7 rabbits at the cemetery.
Kathy was out walking again too and I encountered her around the ball park.

Walked 6.4 miles.

Got a couple of things done around the house and then we left for bowling.  Left a little early and stopped at the library and Lowe's.

So nice to get back to bowling. : )  There were 6 of us there and we bowled 3 games.  Two had to leave and we four bowled another game.  Had a couple of good scores but no record breaking ones.

After supper I went outside and worked in the garden.  Got zucchini and cucumbers planted in two raised beds and cleaned out another bed for lettuce.  I'll be planting eggplant too once I get another bed ready.  The two other beds have asparagus and rhubarb.  Ken will have tomatoes and peppers in his garden.
It was nice working outside in the evening.  It's my second favorite time of day next to early morning.

Another butterfly picture from yesterday.  This time in the front yard.  Appears to have some damage to its wing.
Brought some old pictures back home from my mothers.  I'll post a couple every now and then.  These two are of me.  First grade and second grade. Look at those bangs!!  I hated my bangs so short.
Oh by the way, my blood work came back and all was very good.  Still no reason for my numb feet.
A happy day to you.

Jedidja - I think the butterfly is a black tiger swallowtail.
Anyone know for sure?

Lovely butterfly photos - I believe the wings get ragged when they are getting old and near death. I agree with Ruth, very cute black and whites of you.

Sweet school photos. I remember I had bangs like that too. A nice walk for you. To me 50 degrees is perfect walking weather. I'm glad you're back into bowling. Have a great day.

I guess short bangs were the style but I noticed your sweet dimples!

Hi There, Even though I haven't commented much lately (TOO BUSY) ---I have read your posts and kept up with you. Sorry about the death of your step-father --but glad that your Mom is happy and in a good place... I know you are glad to get back home from NY.... Cute pictures of you!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your numb feet. Sounds like a neuropathy problem.. Go and see a specialist if you continue to have problems...

Hugs,
Betsy

It's always nice to look back at old photo's ...
Glad to hear your blood works came back ok - but numb feet - I'm tending to agree with Betsy here, it may be advantageous to see a specialist if it continues...

Take care

All the best Jan

I saw a bunny hop across the road when driving to my new house today. So far I've seen plenty of cows, one bunny, one turkey, two chickens, countless squirrels, two deer, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Well maybe not the last one

I'm leaning toward Spicebush Swallowtail. Were the hind wings bluish/green?
