Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Geese family in the pond by the Drane house this morning.
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
Yesterday there were few snow flurries flying about when I walked but this morning it was sunny, though only 32 degrees.

Walked an around the town route.  Still no cows up at the farm on Sale Barn Rd and the pasture is getting a big over grown now.

There seemed to be more cars driving through town than usual this morning, but only saw one other person walking.

A few rabbits were hopping around by one of the cemeteries and I was happy to see the geese family at the Drane house pond. : )

Walked 6.2 miles.
Found a dime and a penny.

One of the mornings I was up at my parents I walked around their little town, Indian Lake. The weather was beautiful.
Walked passed their church.
It was just 1/2 mile from the cabin where we stayed to my parents house and this is the road between then that I walked along.

Trying to get caught up with the laundry and getting some things done around the house today.

After lunch I went out and mowed the lawn.  I left a little bit of it long and don't plan on mowing it.  It's just a little space around by the bird feeders but a start for a little meadow.

Friday I go for my blood work.  The good thing is that I can have it done up here where I live and they can just send it to my doctor who is 3 hours away.

We went up to Happy Trails yesterday afternoon to check things out up there and I got this picture of the two indigo buntings sitting on a fence.  Sorry for the blurriness but had to zoom in.  Still glad to have gotten the two of them.
It's been a busy day and I hope to get around to visiting you all later or at least some of you.   It is going to take me a while to get caught up.
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.  They are much appreciated.  : )

A happy day to you.

  1. The geese and buntings pics are fantastic! I'm sure you're glad to be back home; it will take a while for you to catch up with friends, housework, laundry, etc. "One day at a time."

  2. That is a lovely photo of the goose family on the pond! I'm sure it was fun walking around your mom's town for a change!
Hope you have a great week!

  3. The buntings are lovely! I love the church, too.

  4. Neat picture of the Indigo Buntings! Love to see them.

  5. It's funny how much a lot of birds change color wise from child to adult

  6. ...going back to your last post, glad that some things have been ruled out with your feet problem. Blood works will be the next thing - so hope all goes well.

Love all your photo's in this post, especially the geese family, so cute.

Take care, catch up one thing at a time!

    All the best Jan

  7. I'm sorry to hear about your parents' troubles. Life never stays the same which can be good but also can be hard. I'm glad that you and your parents have lots of support and I will keep you all in my prayers.
PS love the colour of the blue birds.

  8. Hello, I love the geese, buntings and the curvy road. The church is pretty. I hope all goes well with your blood work. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

  9. I'm catching up too, as you can tell by all my comments on your various posts :) I hope your doctor gets to the bottom of your foot trouble. You are such a good walker, you need healthy feet! Good luck with your meadow! I love having a patch of long grass and clover for the bees.

  10. It was chilly here on Monday also. It was down in the 40's during the morning. warmed up some by afternoon. Its weird to see others still have snow flurries! The two buntings are so precious. Great shot.
