Glad to get back to my morning walk today. It was 46 degrees and just looked wet but not actually raining but when I walked out the door it was raining. Just grabbed by umbrella out of the garage and left in the rain. Nice to hear the rain coming down on the umbrella, one of my favorite sounds. : )After a couple of miles I made a stop back home because my pants were getting wet and so was my feet. Changed into my rain pants and put on my hiking shoes, which keep my feet dry a little bit longer and back out I went.
The three people fishing at the town pond didn't seem to mind the rain. The road you see in the picture leads up to one of the cemeteries which I walked around today.
Walked around the other cemetery too and the ball park loop and all around town. It rained the whole time.
Walked 6.1 miles.

Another one of those rainy days. Couldn't do anything outside so I cleaned out my closet. I guess cleaned out is not the right word but 'straightened' things out because I only got rid of two pocketbooks. Really though I don't have a lot of clothes. I'm not one for keeping what I don't wear. Most women would be appalled at my clothes closet. : ) I don't even have enough clothes to move summer and winter things in and out. All my clothes stay right where they are year round.Late in the afternoon the rain stopped and the sun came out for just a little while. I went out to collect the mail and ended up staying outside and doing a little weeding.
Haven't thought much about what to have for supper so I'd better decide on that now and do something about it!
A happy day to you.

My step-dad has been taking wonderful care of my mom who has
Alzheimer's. Most of you who have been reading my blog know that last
year my mom had a few operations that they didn't expect her to live
through. With good doctors and many, many prayers she is now doing as
well as can be expected. Now my step-dad, who is like a father to me is
having some major issues himself and will soon no longer be able to
take care of her. My mom will probably have to go back to the nursing
home she stayed in for some months last year, but this time it will be
her home. They live 12 hours away in upstate NY but Ken and I will be visiting as often as possible. They do have wonderful friends, and my mom has Vickie who is like a
daughter to her. They have a great church family too
and I know they will be well looked after.
I ask for your
prayers for my family as these changes take place. Please pray for
strength, comfort and wisdom for us all. Thank you so much.

Yes, I'll pray for your mom and step-dad. I do hope they will be able to cope with this transition. It's such a shame.
It's hard watching parents lose their ability to care for themselves or others.I know that with God's help they will be just fine and so will you.
My paternal grandmother (who was really old when I was born) died after getting Alzheimer's sometime when I was in high school. The age gap was massive and she never seemed to even try to spend time with us, so we weren't close.
I'll be thinking of you and them. My wife has gone down to see her mother. At 95, she's our only living parent.

Hello, wonderful images from your walk. I love the pond shot. I will keep your Mom and Step Dad in my prayers. I am glad they have so many good friends nearby. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
I can relate to the closet situation. All of my clothes are in the same closet all of the time. I just move the current season front and center and weed through everything twice a year. Makes it fairly easy to figure out what to wear each day.
I am so sorry to hear about your mom and step dad's situation. It is so hard to watch them struggle. You can count on me to remember all of you in prayer.
Hi Karen, sending many prayers to you and your family.
Take care.
Robin
O yes, I will pray.
Ill surely keep your mom and dad in my prayers.
I'm like you, I only keep clothes in my closet that I wear. Its a small single closet and all my clothes hang in there with lots of room left over. My problem is so many blankets and quilts collected through the years from passed aunts and grandparents. I do not want to part from but they clutter my closet!
Lisa
Man, you make me want to get out there and walk. And clean out my messy closet. I have way too many clothes that I do not wear. I will definitely keep you all in my prayers. We are one, and that is what we do as one! Aloha!
I'm praying for your family and especially your step father. I might be having to face a similar decision in the next year or so.
I am praying for your mom and step father as they face the changes ahead.
Praying for them both sweet Karen...I know your heart is hurting but God is just a breath away.... Love you, Pam
Praying for you all Karen. Change is hard, but with the good Lords help it will all work out. It has been raining here off and on all day. I planted a few pots in between rain storms. While inside I started changing my kitchen décor and did a bit of crafting.
hugs,
Jann
