Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Outside once again : )

The town pond yesterday afternoon.

I got up too late yesterday morning to take a walk before church but did go for an afternoon walk of three miles.

This morning I woke up to a warm morning with a temperature of 48 and it was raining.  But after not walking outside for so long it was a joy to be outside once again taking my morning walk.  Wore my yellow rain slicker and rain pants and stayed dry.  Wore my hiking shoes but my feet were pretty wet by the time I got home.

Since it is so warm and raining most of our snow is now gone but there is still snow on some of the sidewalks down the main road in town as you can see by this picture, so I stayed off the main street and just walked where I could.  I made a left turn here and went down to the side street up to one of the cemeteries.
Went up Sale Barn Rd to see if the cows were out and they were.  A few trotted over by the fence to see me so I took their picture.
I walked 6.1 miles.
Added up the coins I found during the month of January and did quite well considering I've been walking in the basement a lot of the month and don't find many coins there. : )
3 quarters, 2 dimes, and 5 pennies for a grand total $1.00.

We started another jigsaw puzzle which has 550 pieces.  This time I've put the box away and we are going to do it without looking at the box.  A bit more of a challenge this way.  Here's what we have done so far.  It a crazy puzzle with cars and buses all over the place.
I colored today too.  Just been having a fun day around the house.  Not getting any work done.  Later we are heading out to Brenda's for half price pizza Monday.

Hope your day is tip top.
happyone : )

I imagine you were very happy to be walking outside again!
We have been having warmer weather the last couple days too. Great to walk in shoes and light coat. Good luck with your new puzzle. Love the photo of the nuthatch!

How nice it must have been for you to be back outside again.
Working a puzzle without being able to look at the box top does sound like a challenge. Somehow I think it won't slow you down too much.

That was quite a snowfall! Can't believe it is up to your waist! It must have been good to be out walking this morning. Good luck with that puzzle!

48 sounds better than those voting Iowa right now. It's 64 right now here

I imagine you were very pleased to be out walking again. The cows probably enjoyed the visit too. Have a great evening.

A great quote and a fun puzzle. I have never tried doing one without the picture on the box to look at. That would be a challenge. Enjoy the rest of the week.

I wouldn't even know where to begin on a puzzle without looking at the box :) Love your little White-breasted Nuthatch :)

Wow...I cannot believe all of that snow in your header photo! It looks like you might have piles of yucky snow for a while, even while it's melting. It's nice to have days to do nothing but fun stuff...good luck with that puzzle!

You put the box away and got it done in one day? Good heavens! I have head of the crazy people who put a puzzle together upside down by shape only, but what's the fun of that? Amazing how fast the snow has gone. We have very little here and tomorrow's rain will probably take a lot of it away. Fine with me! The grands are moaning about the lack of a luge this year, though.
