Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Vintage Chick Bowl and Spoon

☀     ☀     ☀
Cold and dark this morning so started the day walking 4 miles in the basement.  Walked the other 2 before lunch. The one thing I don't like about winter is that there are days when I just can't take my morning walk.  It's warmed up a bit and the snow is melting.  I'm pretty sure that tomorrow morning I'll be back to walking outside.

Spent the morning doing housework.  Not my favorite thing to do but I do like seeing everything shiny and clean. : )

Looking in the cabinet downstairs this afternoon I came across this little bowl and spoon that were mine when I was a baby.  A neighbor of my grandmother's made this cute little chick bowl for my first Christmas.  Don't know where I got the spoon from but it is a Campbell's soup spoon.
It was only a few years ago that I noticed first was spelled wrong.

Read more of my book this afternoon.  I'm loving this book and will tell you about it once I finish it.

We are going out to get a bite to eat for supper and then stopping to pick up a few ingredients I need for my baking tomorrow.

A happy day to you.

Courage doesn't always roar.
Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day
that says I'll try again tomorrow.

Melanie - You can learn all about weave-it squares if you scroll down past the posts and click on the link Weave-its.  There are a few pictures of some of the afghans I've made there too.

That is a very precious treasure. The misspelled word adds to it's charm.

Your snow photo looks so pretty with all of the blue reflecting on the snow, although I am sure you will be happy to be outside walking again. Hope it's soon.

How wonderful that you have that bowl and spoon! How I wish there had been more things kept from my childhood! That is a really serious snowfall in the picture!

Hello, your snowy scene looks pretty. I like the cute bowl and spoon, it is nice you still have this treasure. I have been walking on my treadmill, I am a wimp in the cold weather. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

What a cute little bowl! I'm so glad you still have it. I hope you can get all of your morning walk outside tomorrow. Thanks for pointing me to the weave-it link. Found it. Loom! That was the word I was trying to remember yesterday when I commented on your post. Have a great day.

Wow, the snow, we never seem to have snow like that here. It's lovely to look at, but not so practical for walking! Your bowl is so sweet, how special that you've kept safe xx
