Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cozy inside

☁     ☁     ☃     ☃
No time for blogging yesterday.  Was at church all day for the regular monthly day of Fingerprints.

Both yesterday and today were very cold mornings again so more walking in the basement.  I got all six miles in yesterday walking two different times.  This morning I walked 4 miles and in the afternoon I walked another 2.

Late morning we went up to Happy Trails to make sure all was good up there before it started snowing again.  So I got to walk around up there for a little bit.  It was really cold though so we didn't stay very long.

Here I am all bundled up, face mask and all.  : )
A heavy snow started falling about 12:30 and is supposed to continue for the next couple of days with 25 inches expected but we shall see.  Finally we are getting a decent amount of snow. : )

The current puzzle has been completed.  I think I'd like to live in this house. : )  Love that porch.  I'll probably be starting the next puzzle later.
This afternoon has been nice and cozy inside by the fire.  I've done a little reading and plan on making some weave-it squares and starting a new knitting project a little bit later.  Homemade pizza is the plan for supper.

Hope your enjoying a happy day.

Kim - I like making the chicken for the soup in the slow cooker because it comes out so tender.  I first brown the chicken in a frying pan with cooking spray sprinkled with paprika.  Then put it in the slow cooker.  I add a little water to the frying pan and scrape up all the brown parts and pour it in the slow cooker over the chicken. It cooks all day until I'm ready to make the soup.

Eileen - No, Wisp is about 8 miles farther down the road.  The snowy scene is from the overlook about 5 miles off 68.

We got mostly ice this morning. The city is pretty shut down. We're awfully unprepared for winter weather

Yes, I like that house too, even the color blue. It does look cold there! Stay cozy and warm!

We heard you are supposed to get lots of snow. Be careful and stay indoors!

It just seems weird that you are going to have all that snow and it's going south of us. I know that it will be gone long before ours is so that's one consolation for you folks. Besides, I think you'll have plenty planned and that you'll have lots of fun cooking and reading and puzzling. I did nothing on my puzzle today...too busy with other pursuits when the light was good. I think I'd like living in that house, too. So pretty! Stay safe, stay cozy!

Wow...you are getting LOTS of now up there! I have been hunkered down all day although we didn't get as much as they thought. Hey, I'll take anything I can get here in the piedmont! Stay safe & warm!

Look after yourselves and keep warm - have just been watching the snow warning for the States on our evening news. It's very warm here, hard to sleep at night.
Just out of curiosity, are you putting insulation in the cabin?

Good morning, we had over a foot of snow last night and it is still snowing. I like the shots of you and your cabin. Stay warm and safe. Happy weekend!

Thanks for explaining how you cook your chicken. I'm going to give it a try as I, too, like tender chicken.
It looks very wintery at HT. I'll be curious to know how much snow you get as a result of this big storm. We had a day of snow then hours of sleet which has left us with an icy mess. Good thing you're not passing through here now as the driving conditions are treacherous.
Love the house on your puzzle. I could easily move right in :).
Stay warm and safe.

I admire you for walking in the basement. Good for you. I'd rather walk on a treadmill (and I don't like treadmills). I am proud of you!!!

The cabin is really coming along. Looks almost done.
