Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A late morning walk

☀     ☀     ☀     ☀
It was another very cold morning so I put off my walk until late in the morning when the temperature warmed up to 19 degrees and it was sunny.  If I don't walk first thing in the morning it's an effort to get out there.  It seems to take up too much time during the day.  First thing in the morning though the day hasn't really started yet.  I'm sure glad I got motivated and got out there because it was beautiful.  No wind and the sky was so very blue.

I walked the Farm Loop and enjoyed every minute.  The air was fresh and crisp.
A few pictures I took during my walk.

Farmer Bill passed by me in his little white car going home.   It was very quiet for the middle of the day.

I walked 5.2 miles.

Worked a bit more on the second puzzle.  Ken has only helped me a little.  He's been busy downstairs working on his train layout.  Winter is the perfect time for it.
Not doing very much this afternoon.  I've been making a few weave-it squares and will make a few more when I'm done here.

Then it will be supper time (and I have no idea what we're going to have yet) and then off to Wednesday evening service at church.

Hope your day is a happy one.

Kim - You know it's been so long we don't even remember how we got started with writing on the Christmas balls.

BettyC - Years ago when I bowled, my highest ever score was 185 and that was a bit higher than my normal bowling!! : )  Since we've been bowling these past months my highest score is 161.

Your photos are lovely. I love the contrast of the blue skies with the snowy ground. Looks like the puzzle is coming along pretty good. I like your idea of answering comments on the bottom of your post. I might try that. Have a great afternoon and evening.

Beautiful photos, clean and crisp, It is so much better to walk when the wind is calm!

I enjoy puzzles but haven't done one in a few years, the last one I did was with one of our grandsons while he was during summer break! We had so much fun!
Blessings,
Sue

Yay for you getting out on that walk! I know what you mean about delaying things that are best accomplished "before the day begins!":-)

FYI: yesterday someone counted 20 Bald Eagles (adults and juveniles) at Wilde Lake. There must be some at Centenial Lake too. I went on Sunday, only saw several, soaring, no fishing.

I'm an early morning kind of walker also. It helps to get my walk in, before the day gets too busy.

Love your pictures, as always.
One of these times, I need to take my little camera and take pictures along my walks too. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Have a happy day.

The pictures are so beautiful! Love the blue sky and the snow :)
I know exactly what you mean - when I don't do certain things in the morning I don't get to do them during the day cause there never seems to be time for it. I'm so happy you got to go on that wonderful walk!
I haven't done a puzzle in a long time - but it was always so much fun. Maybe I get to do that again some time :) I'm curious to see what yours will look like when it's done :)
Have a wonderful day!
Lots of hugs to you,
Beate

You have such a lovely area to walk in. - I don't have patience for jigsaw puzzles but they do seem like a good way to pass time.

You had a gorgeous blue-sky day! My grandkids have been tearing through the jigsaw puzzles this winter. It's fun to see even the neighborhood kids as they pass through, stopping to put a piece or two in place. I find it's harder to get exercise into the day if I wait too long, too. I've had to make up my steps on the treadmill late evening this week.
