Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Coins Found

A misty rainy morning once again with a pretty good breeze and the temperature was 40 degrees.  I'm sure getting a lot of use out of my rain pants and slicker lately.  I don't ever remember a time when I had to wear them so often and I've been walking a good many years!!
This is the only picture I took this morning.
Walked around town again and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.  Very quiet like a Sunday morning.

No people or animals.
I walked 5.8 miles.

Total coins found this month - 14 cents.
  • 1 dime
  • 4 pennies.
Total coins found for this year was $4.29
  • 6 quarters
  • 19 dimes
  • 6 nickels
  • 59 pennies
Total coins found on my walks since 1997 when I started saving them is $239.54
Least found in a year is  $3.60 in 1997.
Most found in a year is $23.89 in 2007.
That is just counting the coins - I've found some dollar bills and once found $20.

It's been rainy all day and at one time there were a few snow flakes falling.

I got some ironing done.  I usually watch I Love Lucy when I iron but we just got a new television and I thought by the time I figure out how to get the DVD player working I would be done ironing. : )

I got a couple of coloring books for Christmas and this afternoon I colored a picture using colored pencils.   A rainy day seemed like a good day for coloring. : )
2015 sure went by fast, hard to believe tomorrow it will be 2016!!  I don't make New Years resolutions but will try to make each day a good one and be happy. : )

Only got 25 books read this year - a lot less than I usually read.
Book number 25 I just finished today and it was the Bible.  Each year I read it from cover to cover.  I've done that for many years and don't even know how many times I've read it, but every time I discover new things. Every time I read the last chapter of Revelation it always gives me the chills.

No church yesterday evening because tonight we will be ringing in the new year there.  We will watch a movie and then eat and play board games.  We are taking our Mexican Train game.  Should be a fun evening. : )  I'm bringing those Chocolate German Cookies I baked yesterday and Nellie, yes the recipe does call for a chocolate German cake mix.

I wish you all a very Happy New Year!
Thank you all so much for being my blogging friends.  Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and for all your comments.

A happy day to you.
happyone : )
We meet today
To thank Thee for the era done,
And Thee for the opening one.

Yay for coin finding! Our son in law found a twenty dollar bill the other day so he took himself out for lunch! Cute! He never does that!
I love your coloring. Well done!
Yay for hiding God's WORD in your good heart!

Laughing at your comment about figuring out how to get the DVD player to work on the new TV.:) It was hilarious as we tried to set our new TV just to show some channels! We've not been brave enough to see if we will be able to get anything else to work.:-) I've a German chocolate cake mix, and I think I'll do those cookies! I think I am able to find a recipe! Have a great New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year! Great job on your coloring. We're having a cloudy rainy week, but the temps have been in the 50's. Today it's suppose to turn cold. Congrats on your new TV. It took us a year to get ours up and running! MJ

Sometimes my kids laugh at me for picking up pennies, but I always figure over time they add up. You have just proven that. Your total through the years is impressive.
You did a great job on your coloring. Looks like just the thing to cheer up a rainy day.
Hope your New Year's celebration was fun.

Hope that you get that DVD figured out. It took us some time to get our new DVD figured out, but I was very glad that I didn't have to call one of the kids. Very proud of myself and have happily been catching up on my Christmas movie watching since. I like the new coloring books. They are very pretty. I think I'd enjoy it because I like crayons and a new coloring book kidstyle.

Happy New Year! - Sorry I haven't visited much lately. - Hope to do better this year. - I think it's amazing that you've counted the number of coins/money you've found on walks through the years. - I hear those (adult) coloring books are the rage now. I bet it is relaxing. I've got some books to read to this year. Take care & enjoy your walks.

Happy New Year! I got a coloring book as well and colored pencils from a dear friend. I really enjoyed sitting by the fire and coloring for a couple of hours. Your picture was beautiful! Much Love, Pam
