Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Catch Up

☁     ☁     ☁     ☁
Another morning that I didn't wake up until 7:00 so got started late again.  These days are the shortest daylight hours of the year and I think that's why I'm just not ready to get up at my usual 6:15.

It was 40 degrees and cloudy when I walked with a bit of a breeze.  I dropped the Christmas cards I wrote out yesterday in the mail slot at the post office and then continued and walked through town.  Went part way up Sale Barn Rd and back down, passed HT turn off and turned around and went back to town.

Walked around the two cemeteries and up and down a few streets.

A few of the gravestones have little Christmas trees by them.

Thought there would be a few  people out walking around since it was later but no one else was around.

By the time I was back home the sun had come out.

I walked 6 miles.

It's been a catch up day today.  I've read blogs, finished writing out my Christmas cards and got some laundry done.  Those few words just about sums up my day. : )

Hope your day has been a happy one.

There as only been one Christmas,
the rest are anniversaries.

I've never seen a gravestone with a heart shape. I wonder how much that must have cost.

Lovely photos. I'm glad you can sleep in. For some reason I am waking up at 5:00 every morning for the past week! It has been wonderful weather for walking early though.
Take care.
