Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Day Sixteen of Thanks

Giving Thanks Post Day Sixteen
Morning Walks

I am thankful for my morning walks.
For the beautiful countryside to walk around.
That I am healthy to be able to walk 6 miles and think nothing of it.
The desire to actually look forward to my walks.
I prefer walking alone but really I'm never alone
because God is walking with me every step of the way. : )
I start out each day with a walk and the first part of my walk
is my prayer time.
I thank God for keeping me safe during my walks.
I'm thankful for the people I've met.
For the deer, rabbits, birds and other wildlife I see.
And the horses and cows I've met.
Those awesome sunrises.
From walking I know my little town well and
know what is going on around town.
I'm thankful for the energy walking gives me for the rest of the day.
Oh yes, and I'm thankful that walking keeps me fit and healthy.
Walking makes me happy. : )
I started walking for exercise back in 1988 and never
imagined all the extra benefits that I would receive
and I'm thankful for every one.

A couple of pictures I snapped along my walk this morning.
Don't they make you want to get out and go for a walk? : )

A happy day to you all.

Six miles, good health, and a beautiful place to walk, it doesn't get much better than that. And it is indeed something to be very grateful for.

Amen! I agree with you - walks are wonderful. I know I look forward to mine every day - I told my husband that I think I am addicted to walking! I also pray during morning walks but at night I walk with my husband and we usually talk to each other. I am enjoying all your gratitude posts! Have a great week.

Yes, long walks with God are something to be very helpful for. Enjoyed a three hour walk today.

Well I certainly wish that I had started walking for exercise in 1988. Do you have to wear blaze orange yet? Beautiful countryside...
