Giving Thanks Post Day 2
Friends
I have been blessed during my life to have good friends.
Bernice is my life long friend. I've known her my whole life.
Our parents knew each other and went to the same church.
No sisters or brothers for me but Bernice is closer than a sister.
She knows all about me, both the good and the bad, and still we are friends. : )
Janie and Patty come to mind when I think of my friends.
They were sisters and my next door neighbors from the time I was in
third grade until I left home to get married.
We have stayed friends over the years.
Sara-Jane comes to mind too. We met when we were 19 working at Harmon Colors.
Only worked a year together but have been friends all these many years.
We haven't seen each other in years but we do keep in touch for birthdays
and Christmas and I believe she reads my blog sometimes. : )
Ken was in the Navy for 20 years and we lived in a many different places
and I've met many good friends during that time.
Too many to mention by name.
We kept in touch for a while after moving but then lost touch.
But that is okay because for the time they were in my life they made
a difference in my life and have left memories.
I must mention Mary Jo, who has been my dear friend for the last 6 years.
She helped me get through a rough time when we first met
and we have had many wonderful lunches and happy times since then.
I am also thankful for the many new friends I have met since moving here.
The group of us who go bowling and our game nights.
Many times I have laughed so much that by the end of the day
my cheeks hurt. : )
The people I have met while walking also come to mind. Here and the
other places I've lived and walked.
We may just be acquaintances but I am thankful for all of them too.
Then of course there are all of you, my blogging friends.
Blogging friends are in a category all their own.
Anyone who blogs will understand that.
What special people you are.
It's amazing how good you can know someone from just being blog friends.
I have been so thankful to have met some of you in person
and hope to meet more of you some time down the road.
There are many more friends I have not mentioned by name
but you are all special to me and have given me many happy memories.
I am so very thankful for each and every one of you and
thank YOU for being my friend.
happyone : )

Hello, wonderful post, what would we do without all our friends. I am thankful for you and all my blogging friends. Happy Monday and enjoy your new week!
Hi There, YES---we all do have so much to be thankful for... I always read your posts even though I don't comment as much as I used to... I love keeping up with your life. What amazes me is your moving to a new town, making friends, finding a church, and just being extremely happy and active in the community SO quickly... I'm not sure I could do that --since I'm not much of a 'joiner'... We moved here in 2003 ---and still are not involved in the community much. BUT--our lives are SO full with so many things we love (traveling, hiking, gardening, birding, family, etc.) ---we just don't have the desire or need to join anything yet... But--I admire you two for the life you live in that new community...
Hugs,
Betsy

Another great post that has got me remembering some of my good friends through the years...I can't believe how similar our lives have been in many ways - I was also raised as an only child - no siblings until I was reunited with my birth family when I was in my 20s. Also hubby and I have moved a lot in our marriage because he worked for the Air Force as a civilian accountant. We also made wonderful friends where ever we lived and have such great memories. Of course, I am very thankful for you, even though we have never met. You were one of my very first blog friends and have been a great friend across the miles! Thanks for sharing these lovely posts!
Yes! Friends are a wonderful blessing!
I enjoyed reading about your sweet friendships, and it brought to mind the many friends that I have been blessed with throughout the years, and friends I am blessed with now.
Blog friends have truly been a blessing to me, as well. Thank you for being one of those blog friends!

Hi Karen, a great post. I, too have been blessed with some good friends over the years. I have a sister who is also one of my best friends. As Deb mentioned it is funny how similar our two lives are. Chuck was 31 years in the military so we moved around a bit. I have met so many great people since I started blogging in May, one of which is YOU of course! Maybe someday we will meet in person. Have a great evening.
I really like your November theme of thankfulness. I understand about blogger friends too; even though I don't know some of them personally, I feel like I do because they let me in on their lives through blogging. Thank you for making me smile with each post. Also, off topic here, but Amazon has Coolpix 610 and 620 cameras and they are listed as "old model." Not sure what that means, but thought I'd let you know anyway!
What an amazing and inspiring post. I love this so much! Having such wonderful and special people in your life truly is amazing. They are lucky to have you in their life, too!
And yes, blogging friends are a very special type of friends. I am constantly blown away by this incredibly loving community and I'm so grateful to be part of it. You are one of those very special blogger friends that is always supporting and loving. Thank you for being you <3
Have an amazing Monday, Happyone.
I don't have a lot of close friends, just one or two, but I love them to bits. Most of the people I know are blessings as well, whether friend, family or just 'not quite so close' friends. I'm enjoying your daily thanksgiving posts, they are very inspiring - and we're only on day 2. :)

I am grateful for friends, as well. What fun it was to meet you and Ken last month and enjoy that fun evening of fellowship! :) God truly does bless friendships.
You are getting off to a great start with your daily thanksgiving posts. I will look forward to more!
It is good to think about friends. I was not a military wife as long as you, but I was surprised that our Army friends have not remained fast. My parents' Marine Corps friends lasted s lifetime. Yes, there is something very special about blogging friends. I'm not sure that it can be described.
I'm enjoying these new posts of yours. And blogging friends are indeed something special. They've made a huge difference in my life since our son died. Finding that i meet more and kore people i know when i go into the small town here, just acquaintences, but makes me feel i'm part of a real community.
Friends make the world go round. What a heartfelt post, very nice of you to share. Greetings and best wishes.
Good friends are a true gift. I am missing my friend Charlie, who would have been 66 two days ago. I wish I could have wished him a happy BD.
