Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Thursday

☂     ☂     ☁
Left on my walk this morning at 7:30.  It was 50 degrees and raining once again.  Still a bit windy but nothing like yesterday.  I walked around town, down passed the HT turnoff, then back to town and around town some more.  Took a loop around one of the cemeteries and the ball park loop.

Didn't see anyone else out.  Just waved to the usual people in cars, trucks, and buses.

It rained for about the first 2 miles, then it stopped and the clouds started to break up.  Amazing to watch the wind blow the clouds racing across the sky.  Then the sun appeared.  : )
Pretty much all the leaves have blown down off the trees now but the oak trees are still holding on to them.

Especially nice to be walking this morning after missing yesterday.
Walked 5.5 miles.

In the morning I got some things done around the house.  Nothing big just a bunch of little things that needed doing.

Even found some time to just sit and read.  I finished the book for my book club next month, The Red Garden by Alice Hoffman.  It was good but I thought it was a bit disjointed and seemed more like a book of short stories.  It says this on the cover.  "Hoffman offers a transforming glimpse of small-town America, presenting us with some three hundred years of passion, dark secrets, loyalty and redemption in a web of tales where characters lives are intertwined by fate and by their own actions."

We are going out in a little while to a friends house where we will meet up with a couple more couples for another game night of Mexican Train.  We will have supper there and then play the game.  Should be another fun night. : )

Hope your day has been a happy one.

no longer to carry rain or usher storm,
but to add color to my sunset sky.

I think that Mexican Train is a lot of fun! In fact, I gave it to my niece and her husband for Christmas one year! Enjoy your evening!

Pretty pictures.
Funny how the trees hang on to their leaves, then 'whoosh', one good cold snap, and they all fall at once :)

Hope you had a lovely time with your friends.

Smiles :)

Hi Karen, glad you enjoyed your walk. We were terribly windy here yesterday but managed to go for a walk before it got too bad.
