Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Game Night

☂     ☂     ☂     ☂
It was a rainy morning today and 58 degrees when I headed out on my walk today. Wore my rain pants and yellow slicker.  Good choice as the rain was mostly misting and the umbrella wouldn't have done much good.

Dropped a book down the library shoot.  Didn't finish reading it but want to as it is a good book but it was due and couldn't be renewed. I've put it back on the reserve list.  Its the book club selection for this month so I won't be going to the meeting tomorrow because I don't want to know the ending.

Walked up and down and all around the streets in town and the ball park loop.

Saw a few rabbits and geese flying but that's about it.
Didn't take any pictures on my walk.  The above picture was taken yesterday.
I walked 5.3 miles.

Sounds like quite a few people have had to deal with migraines.  Sure hope none of us ever have one again!!!

It's game night at our house tonight and I've been sprucing the house up a bit for that.
The 8 of us will have dinner before playing Mexican Train.  Ken and I thought it would be fun to have a Mexican meal so I'm making Chicken Enchiladas with rice.  Salsa and chips will be served too.
The dessert isn't Mexican but one I thought everyone would like. Creme Puffs.  Here they are out of the oven before they are filled and drizzled with chocolate.
I'll take another picture when they are finished.  Posting a bit early today because I'm going to get back to work in the kitchen.  Probably won't get a chance to blog later.

Hope your day as been a happy one.

Thanks everyone for all those encouraging words about me being in the church choir.
Karen - I don't think I'll ever be doing a solo, but that was kind of you to say.  I am not being modest when I say I can't sing. : )

My boss gets migraines all the time. Before she got promoted to be my boss, she'd often call out because they would hurt so bad.

Hi Karen, I've been out of town and stopping by tonight to catch up. A shame you couldn't renew the book in time for book club. I'm now curious to know the name of the book. Your game night sounds like a lot of fun and the menu sounds perfect. I love creme puffs, but haven't made them in years. Your guests are in for a treat. Off to find out who had a migraine.
