Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rainy walk

☂     ☂     ☂     ☂
I didn't leave the house until 7:25 this morning.  It was just too dark and rainy for me to wake up early!!  It was 42 degrees, rainy and windy.  I put an extra sweat shirt on and my rain paints and yellow slicker and I was set to go.  It would have been too windy to just take the umbrella.

I stayed around town and walked all over the place with no special route in mind.  I didn't see any one else out, only people in cars.  Didn't even see any animals.  It was kind a nice walking in the rain and I liked hearing the rain on my hood. : )
I walked 5.2 miles.
A couple of pictures along my way.

Ken spent some more time down with his trains.

I cleaned out and straightened up some cabinets in the kitchen and when I was done had a few empty cabinets.  Isn't that nice?! There are cabinets out in the garage which had kitchen stuff in one of them. Now I was able to move those things into the cabinets I cleaned out in the kitchen. The empty cabinet in the garage can get filled with some of the stuff laying around in the garage.  I'll do that another day though.

Going to spend the rest of the day reading and maybe do a little knitting.
Haven't decided on supper yet, though I do know what kind of ice cream I'll be eating this evening - chocolate chip mint.  : )

Enjoy your day.

Sounds like you got lots done inside the house. We have been waking up later too and walking later. I will be cleaning out some closets today. Have a nice day!

It looks like fall up there! We've had wind and rain, off and on. We had a couple limbs break off the oak, and the oldest feeder pole was lying on the ground when I returned home Friday. It was a good weekend for sleeping in and staying inside to cook/bake.

That's some incredible consolidating you did! Wonder if I could get that successful.

That first photo of the leaves in the rain is so vibrant and pretty!

Just saw your reply about the trains. Will go check that out. I LOVE to organize and clean out cabinets and make new space -- one of my favorite things to do! 42 degrees is quite chilly -- fall is HERE!

I was walking in the rain last weekend as well. I have not had a chance to walk lately, am adding a few pounds, and am taking my granddaughter to Disney World soon. So I decided it was time, with the cooler weather, to start trying to walk more. I got soaked both Saturday and Sunday but am enjoying walking.
