Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A good day for soup

☁     ☁     ☁     ☁
I left on my walk this morning at 6:30 right on the button.  Sunrise was at 7:13 so it was dark when I left.  Didn't see the sun when it came up either because it was cloudy.   About 2 miles or so from home a light misty rain started.  It was 52 degrees.

I walked the Farm Loop route and then a quick loop around town and the ball park loop.  Didn't see any people about but did see two deer by the ball park and here is one of them.  She stayed just so I could get a picture and then she ran off to her right back into the woods.
I walked 6 miles.
Added up the coins I found for the month of September.
One quarter, three dimes and 7 pennies for grand total of 62 cents.

I had planned on going up to Happy Trails with Ken today but it wasn't that nice out so I decided to stay home.  He went to Lowe's and bought the skylight and the shingles for the left bump out on the cabin and took them up to HT.  He puttered around up there in the mist but didn't work on the cabin.

Sherry called me and said I could pick up her book, Voyager to read.  It's the third one in the Outlander series.  I didn't walk over right away because there were a few things I wanted to do and knew I wouldn't get them done if I had the book. : )  It's a good thing too because when I got home that's what I did - started the book.

Made some delicious Broccoli Cheddar Soup today.  It's a new recipe that I got from Debby, a new blogger friend of mine.  It was really very good and easy to make.  You can check out her recipe HERE.  Even if you don't want the recipe you should stop by and anyway - she takes some outstanding photos.  : )  We ate supper a little early because we couldn't wait to eat the soup.  It was a big hit with Ken too.  A salad and bread rounded out the meal nicely.

Another nice evening at home and there's always that ice cream to look forward to.
Hope your day has been a good one.

Soup sounds good! I'll have to stop by the blog you mentioned for a visit.
Hoping tomorrow, we will get some cooler weather here, as it was almost 90 today... Yikes!
Before we know it, we'll be shoveling snow though, so I am enjoying these last warm days :)

It is beginning to look a lot like fall on your walks. How nice of the deer to pose for your photo.
Always nice to find a new soup recipe. I'm heading over to check it out now.

That is a lovely fall picture. It looks more fall-y in your neck of the woods! Your soup sounds tasty. We had chili for dinner even though it was indeed 82 degrees today.
