Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Tuesday

Took this picture in a parking lot the other day.

59 degrees this morning and sunny once the sun came up.  I walked pretty much the same route as yesterday and saw the cows again.  A few rabbits were around too.

Walking past one house a woman was coming out the door and said to me, "You are such a dedicated walker.  I wish I could get some motivation to get out and walk."   I told her, "Just put on a pair of walking shoes and do it. "  : )

Walked 5.6 miles.

Ken went up to HT after breakfast but I didn't go with him.  I decided to take my car out for a spin and go to WalMart.  I just walked around mostly looking at things but I did buy a couple of things including some nail polish.  I got daring and got a sparkly red color.  : )

I was looking at purses and found one I liked and couldn't resist.  Another woman was looking too and was still looking after I walked off with mine.  A few minutes later I thought, I don't really need this purse, and brought it back.  The other woman was still there.  I said to her, "I decided I don't really need this." and put it back.   She laughed and said, "I don't need another purse either.  I'm not going to buy this.  Thanks."  Then we got talking and like me she finds is hard to pass up a new purse.  We both agreed we shouldn't even look at them. : )
I seem to always end up talking to someone when I go out.  Are you like that too?

I was home by lunch time and Ken came back from HT for lunch at home too.  Afterwards I went back with him to HT.

Today the entrance porch got started and is almost finished.  Just have to put a railing on yet.  We used the decking from the deck out back from home that we took apart, and painted it a pretty country blue.
I need to spend some time this evening reading my book.  Only have two more days to finish it.  For some reason I just can't find time to read much anymore.  I'm way down on the number of books I usually read.  Maybe come winter I'll be able to get more reading done.

Hope your day was a happy one and you smiled often.

Oh my, I'm just ooohing and aaaahing over these lovely country scenes on your blog...the one in your header is so lovely. As you must surely know by my post that traveling these roads less traveled is definitely my thing. Now, I just need to get and walk them more :) Have a good night!

That is a well behaved dog!

Your cabin continues to come along. What a great asset that will be - your little retreat, and just a short distance away!

Ken is amazing! He's an architect and a knowledgeable builder. It's fun to see your cabin's progress.

Good morning, love the pretty dog, he is very patient. I think once you get into an exercise or walking routine it becomes easier. You are so right you have to just "do it" . I do enjoy seeing your cabin's progress. Have a happy day!

It will be interesting to see if you start seeing the lady out walking in the morning. Great advice you gave to her.
How fun to get some new nail polish and get a bit daring in the process. Is that a light blue on the right in the picture? I just stepped out of my comfort zone with a purple shade for the wedding. It matched my dress pretty well, but is now looking kind of bright for daily wear.
Funny about your purse conversation. I imagine a lot of us buy purses we don't really need. Good thing we keep each other in check now and then. I think I am probably more the person that people strike up conversations with in stores. I once had a lady in a bookstore ask if she could sit down with me and she proceeded to tell me about the problems she was having with her love life. I had the time to spare and honestly didn't mind being a listening ear for her as I could tell she really needed it at the time.
The entrance porch at HT looks so welcoming already. Love the shade of blue you used to paint it.

I do like to talk to shopping women, too!
I like the feeling of putting something back! It's a relief.
I love your blue deck, K!
Good walking! See? You're inspiring others!

Your cabin is beginning to look "homey". Maybe "cozy" is a better word.
It's funny that neither of you bought the purse.
