Didn't leave on my walk until 7:20, woke up a bit late. It was 50 degrees and cloudy so it still seemed early. Still windy but not as bad as yesterday.
Walked through town down the main road, around town, the two cemeteries and the ball park loop.
Here is another field where the corn has started to be harvested. Yesterday's corn field was left nice and neat looking. Farmer Georg cuts it with a tractor pulling some smallish attachment which I don't know the name of. Farmer Marvin uses a huge machine of some kind that takes down a lot of corn at a time but leaves more of a mess.
Saw the man I've been seeing more and more walking his two dogs. He stopped to ask me how far and long I've been walking. That's the usual things people ask me. His two dogs didn't bark at me this time. : )
I can't believe all the chipmunks I've been seeing around here. They are all over the place. Everywhere I go I see them.
I walked 5.7 miles.

I wrote a few more letters and got caught up with a few loose ends that needed doing that I kept putting off - Copying down a recipe for a friend, a couple of emails that I needed to write, and a few other things.Ken worked on the back stone patio here at home this afternoon. Here's a few pictures. All stone was collected at Happy Trails.
This one is a close up after the smaller stones and gravel are put between stones which have been crushed with our rock crusher.
I did some more weeding and raked out a pile of mulch that I was getting tired of looking at in the back yard.
I've started another scarf. This one is pink, white and purple.
It's been a day with some sun and clouds, but cool and a bit windy. A good day for working outside.
Hope your Saturday has been a good one.

Comment Replies:Robin and Kim - I am going to be lazy and just leave them there for the birds. If they don't come and eat them right there, I will take the seeds out and just put them in the bird feeders. I'm not crazy about eating them. Too much work for little return. : )

Lovely images from your walk, the leaves are a beautiful color. The stone patio looks very nice! Enjoy your weekend!
I love the new fall look of your blog. :-) That stone patio is awesome. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Love your stone patio. Well done Ken.
This sounds like it was a good catch-up Saturday for you. Ken has done a great job with that patio!
The patio looks FABULOUS!!
Hi Karen, your new stone patio looks great. I like your clothesline. We had one just like it at the house I showed yesterday on my blog. You can get lots of clothes on it.
Your blog is definitely ready for fall...I love it! I really like your stone patio. We put one in when we had our cabin in Fancy Gap, VA so I know the work involved...even more so making a whole patio!
Beautiful photos!
The stone patio looks wonderful! What a great use of resources for the taking. Lots of hard work required, though. It looks beautifully autumnal there and it must feel good to be able to see clear over the corn fields again. Tunnels are fine for a while, but the open spaces are good, too. I think I am nearly ready for chocolate cake...perhaps when it is cooler tomorrow.
